Incomplete Heroic Style: Phoenix

I felt the cold water of the basin encompass my body. The heat that had previously flowed in my veins had stopped due to the fact that my heart is now destroyed.

My mind is fading. It's so cold…

My ability to feel is slowly becoming numb. I know this sensation. I've experienced it once before, but that time I had an escape plan.

So this is it…

Death.

I thought I would die heroically someday. Perhaps I would die blocking an attack that was about to claim my friend's life, like some character in an anime. I could give a speech about the value of fighting for one's friends, or how I love someone or something more than anything else.

Maybe I could have died while battling the Demon King. I pushed all the way to the end, only to come up short and fail. Then, when I die, my death is not in vain as the rest of the world rallies up to avenge my death, making me a martyr.

Perhaps I could have died from something as simple as of old age.
