Chapter 7
I wasn't sure how long I'd laid there, hand pressed over various areas of her belly as I waited for another kick to come. The peaceful moment was broken as my phone began to blare on the bedside table. Hissing a slew of curses under my breath when Danielle started to stir in her sleep, I struggled to lean over her body without crushing her or completely ruining our laying position as I attempted to grab my phone and silence it.
Reading the caller ID, I clenched my jaw before swiftly answering it.
"Hello?" I whispered out as quietly as possible. I watched Danielle's body like a hawk as she continued to fidget before finally getting comfortable once again and drifting back off to sleep.
