"When It All Began II"

Prince Jacob was wearing his pajamas, his hair a mess, and his clothes clean.

There was no sign of blood on him. He acted as if he wasn't the one responsible, crying and screaming in pain while the maids comforted him.

Scarlet was left dumbfounded.

Unable to take in his whole charade, she dropped to the floor.

Scarlet didn't cry, to be precise, she was shocked by his acting. He never knew his brother was capable of such acts and she feels as though his brother had not regretted taking the life of the people who had cared for him.

While Scarlet stared at Prince Jacob, he met her gaze and let out a venomous sneer, and mouth the words 'Lucky you.' to which she was the only one who saw his actions.

Feeling a sense of danger, she shivered.

She didn't know if that was her brother anymore.

Scarlet stood back up and ran away from the scene, while running from fear and sadness, tears suddenly streamed down her cheeks.

She ran as fast as she could out of the palace, and when she looked around, she found herself in the forest. Her white pajamas were now torn and covered with dirt, she knelt to the ground while burying her face unto the grass.

She cried her heart out, screaming as she recalled her brother's actions while he wore a nefarious smile plastered on his face, knowing that he took the life of those dear to her.

As she screamed, she felt the ground shaking beneath her. The earth split and formed a circle around her, but she paid no mind. Her thoughts were clouded, and all she could think of was what had happened earlier.

"Why?! what did we ever do to you? how can you do this to me?! To us!?I'll kill you! I'll make you suffer, and I'll make you miserable!" She shouted in agony.

Her heart was filled with anger and sadness, and she screamed once more, causing the earth beneath her to push her downwards, forming a hole.

She screamed for minutes without end and when she finally had enough, she grew quiet.

All she could hear was the wind whistling in her ears and a gentle breeze brush past her cheeks.

Looking up, she spotted a river. She slowly climbed out of the hole she was in and walked towards it.

As she saw her reflection, she noticed that both her eyes were shining. Her eyes widened, as she looked closely to see that both her irises were in the shape of a bull, her zodiac sign.

Scarlet had awakened a power within her.

Touching her cheeks in disbelief, she glanced back at the hole that she was in. Curious about what else she could do, she picked up a stone the size of her palm and concentrated.

After a while, the stone liquefied in her palms, and she envisioned the shape of a bull. The stone transformed accordingly.

Scarlet's jaw dropped in astonishment.

"I see you have been suffering, young lady..." A mysterious voice said in a soothing tone.

To her surprise, she looked up to see a bull just inches away from her.

Her surroundings changed in the blink of an eye, bathed in a soothing blue hue with stars all around. She was sitting on a pathway of light. And the bull before her was surrounded by warm light, its eyes resembling the cosmos, deep blue with countless stars, matching the environment around her.

She wasn't scared of him, in fact, she felt safe, as if they were one. She touched and hugged him while closing her eyes; by instinct, she knew he was her familiar.

"I will forever be by your side. Use me however you please, even as a weapon if you want, because I am forever yours."

"No, I will cherish you, because you are mine, and I am yours." She softly said as she caressed her familiar.

When she opened her eyes, she was alone again, back at where she stood.

Seconds later, the maids found her and hurriedly came to Scarlet's rescue—or so they thought.

"Princess Scarlet!" screamed the maid holding a lamp.

Scarlet got up and gazed up at the stars.

"I will take revenge."
