Jealous

"How long do I have to stand like this, um? I want to sit too." Shinsuke complained. It's been 30 minutes he was told to stand leaning against the wall by his wife. It's all just to fulfill Kenkyo's wish to make Shinsuke a model for his illustrations.

Kenkyo put down his pencil and paper. She extended her hand towards Shinsuke.

Shinsuke smiled. He walked over to Kenkyo and hugged him. He pulled Kenkyo's tiny body to sit on his lap.

"My tantei?"

"Hmm?"

"I don't like that girl named Mayumi. It seems she's attracted to you."

"Yaree~ are you jealous right now, huh?"

"Jealousy is a sign of love. Didn't you say it then?" Kenkyo pursed her lips. It was an expression that made Shinsuke excited and ended up kissing the pouted lips earlier.

Kenkyo gasped in surprise, but the next second he was laughing amusedly.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Ah, dammit! I forgot they were coming here."

"Your friends?"

Shinsuke nodded. He had already agreed this afternoon, so it was impossible to cancel it.

"Open it! It's not good to let guests wait long outside."

Shinsuke sighed. He really wasn't allowed to live in peace even for a second. And why did his wife defend his cursed friends more than Shinsuke? Just wait! Shinsuke will punish his wife tonight.

Walking lazily, Shinsuke finally opened the door. In front of the door all his friends had gathered with various types of food and drink.

Shinsuke's investigation team consists of 1 girl and 3 men including Shinsuke. The young man with long hair in a ponytail was named Kyosuke, while the man with blonde hair was named Kensuke. It was Mayumi who was the only girl on their investigation team.

Kyosuke barged in without waiting for the host to say hello. Shinsuke just took a deep breath, he knew very well the behavior of his teammate. If he remembers, he also had friends like Kyosuke back in Tokyo. Kensuke and Mayumi ended up tailing Kyosuke. They left the host still standing in the doorway.

Shinsuke saw his three comrades had already unpacked their food and drinks on the living room table. What a sassy guest.

Mayumi pulled Shinsuke to sit between them. She poured sake into the drinking glass she had previously prepared from Shinsuke's kitchen. Next, she poured into Kyosuke and Kensuke's glasses as well.

Kensuke raised his glass in the air.

"This is to celebrate our success in Chief Takahashi's team. Cheers!!"

Everyone toasts. However, Shinsuke's gaze was fixed on the living room. He waited for his wife to join him, but no one was there. Blank. Kenkyo might also feel reluctant to join.

"Who are you looking for, Chief?" Mayumi spoke. She followed Shinsuke's gaze.

"My wife... a minute! I'll call her first and---"

"Stop it, Chief!" Kyosuke snapped.
