Chapter 3

"I heard you went on a little camping trip." My father laid down the pen he was using to sign documents and looked at me with a small smile on his face.

Scary. My father was smiling and I could even see a faint light illuminating his blonde hair but to me, it looked like the smile of a demon.

"That's not nice, you know. Calling your own father a demon." My dad still retained his smile as the light behind him became even brighter and I became sure that it wasn't just visual hallucination.

Wait, before that, can he read my mind?

"It's not mind reading. I'm simply observing your facial expressions and using analysis magic and predicting what you will say. Judging from your reactions, I guess I'm pretty much correct."

Midway through his speech, sweat had began trickling down my back and I was amazed at the way my father seemed to read people like an open book. At this point, I would probably believe if he told me he had mind reading abilities.

"But this method is still inferior to the actual thing." I blinked at his words and opened my mouth.

"Mind reading magic actually exists?"

"Yes. I encountered it back when I was younger and it took me everything I had to defeat the person."

"How do you even defeat someone who knows your every move? Don't tell me it's something like 'empty your mind of all thoughts' kind of thing."

"In a way, yes. You stop thinking about your next move and simply move according to your instincts. Just plan haphazardly and let your body figure the rest out." My dad beckoned me with his finger and I walked over and sat in the little chair next to him.

"I'm sure we could have found a more suitable way to beat him if we had enough time but at that moment, that was the best we could do." My dad finished and I filed away the information for later use.

"By the way, don't think I have forgotten what I called you here for."

I cursed under my breath as I heard him bring up the topic I had been wanting to avoid and immediately donned the cutest and most innocent smile I could muster.

"Daddy," I softly called out and even though he knew I was just acting, I could sense him wavering and decided to press the offence.

"Sai knows what he did was wrong. Sai will accept whatever punishment daddy chooses to give out that is why," and for my ultimate move, I climbed onto his lap to deliver the final blow.

"Please forgive Sai. Don't be mad at Sai again." My father, Aris Reschelburg, held his head and groaned as conflicting emotions swirled in him.

Please let it work. That was my prayer as I hoped for that attack to deal the final blow.

"Fine, you got me." Coming to a conclusion, he sighed and I smiled and hugged his body with my little arms and rubbed his stubble with my cheeks.

"Thank you. I love you daddy." I decided to throw in one final attack as a bonus and he reeled over in shock at the surprise attack.

...

"Anyways, I have something important to tell you." After our shenanigans, my dad settled me atop his lap and I leaned back into his muscular torso. Not as much as mine was in my previous life though.

"You have a fiancée." And what he said was something I had never experienced before.

"Eh?" was my response to news that wasn't supposed to be delivered in the setting we were in.

"The king contacted me and we made an agreement to sell- engage you to his younger daughter." My dad coughed out as though feeling guilty but I knew what he was thinking.

"You sold me out?!" I jumped down and glared at the man known as Aris Reschelburg and he cowered.

"No wonder you forgave me so easily. I should have known something was up."

I sighed and looked upwards ignoring my father who was trying to explain things to me.

I'm not exactly proud to say this but even in my past life, I was a single dog throughout and had little to no female acquaintances.

Never in my life did I think I would get a fiancée in my next life at the young age of four.

"I said I'm sorry. But a royal engagement isn't something you can refuse easily." My dad explained and I let go of my frustration and listened to him.

"This engagement is one part political, one part personal. The king and I were friends back in the days and we kind of made a promise while we were drunk to betroth our kids to each other. Turns out he remembered and he decided to follow up on it."

"I see." I made a mental note not to drink even a single drop of alcohol as to not bother my future kids.

"Sigh, I guess I have no choice but to go along with it." My dad's eyes brightened as I accepted it and his attitude turned around and he started blabbing but I tuned him out as I began to think about my future plans.

Political engagements aren't the kind of thing one breaks just because he or she wants to. It's not like I have anybody I like so I'm mostly just pissed off that they decided something like this without telling me.

"When am I going to meet her?" I interrupted my dad who was still rambling on.

"Anywhere from tomorrow to three years in the future."

Hearing his answer, I grinned as I knew I still had enough time to carry out my plans.

...

Three years later, a black haired girl dressed in a pure white one piece dress bowed slightly as she greeted me.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sai Reschelburg. My name is Katarina Farses, the third princess of the Farses kingdom."
