Labyrinth

Another day came after the party ended.

I was able to go back home without meeting up with Ellezar, so I can now rest easy and continue writing my book.

Today is the official day when people will have to pay a fee to get inside the library to stay there all day reading whatever they want and even borrow a book to take back home after the day is done.

It is basically a place for people who has a lot of time in their hands to go to, since they have to sacrifice a whole day of their time just to make use of the fee they paid fully.

The money gathered for the entrance fee is the same no matter how long you stay in the library as long as you leave the place before the closing time.

I think it was a silver coin per person to get inside and the borrowed book that you can bring home before the closing time has 7 days avaible for use until you are required to bring them back to the library.

Not being able to bring the borrowed book back can cause you to be fined one silver coin per each day that you keep them.

By the way I also placed my books in the library. After a lot of hesitation I decided to put five copies for each 21 books in the library so all in all there's 105 books in total.

Though the number did not matter since there's basically ten thousand of empty shelves that overwhelms it.

I really need to improve my skills so I can create my books much faster than before.

I do feel like I'm slowly improving when it comes to my speed while also not lowering the quality of content inside it.

I used to take at least three months of making the book before I complete it but now it's only two and a half months in time.

In just two weeks the 22nd book will be much ready to be placed in the library.

While I was happily doing my own thing for a week a news about the existence about the labyrinth has slowly been the talked amongst the aristocracy.

It was currently put in secrecy until the entrance to the labyrinth is found.

Labyrinth... Did I ever learn that in the history books?

I don't think I did.

It seems like a dangerous type of knowledge that not even a lady of the Azrael should bother knowing so I guess it was never taught to me.

But I think it is important though?

After all there's a possibility that the progenitors before me are involve in its creation.

They said the labyrinth is a punishment brought by the gods to the world but I know that's not true.

Before I was born I heard the voice of the god saying that they don't interfere directly to what's happening in this world whether it gets destroyed or many people suffer, the gods will not bother to bat an eye on it.

But since it is a world where many souls live, they need someone to watch over it for them so they send the progenitors such as myself.

As for the Saintess, her task is to make sure that the people know who their creator is and praise that creator as long as they live.

Now if I think about it isn't the labyrinth a doing of the five progenitors? If not all of them then at least one or two.

After all progenitors have the power to make a simple labyrinth to come to existence.

I can even make another one of it in the Book of Art although it will be much smaller than the current labyrinth and monsters has to be invited inside manually as well.

I looked at the Book of life and sighed as always. As always it's best to read the story of my maid Kelly.

She, for some reason can easily hear the outside news first before anyone else in the mansion. She somehow have the power of the bat's ears but also has a tongue of a sloth.

You can rely on her when it comes to sharing your secrets since she will probably die before letting out a word of it.

I then turned the book to read my sister's thoughts and as expected she's actually thinking of participating in the war as well now that she learned that things will get dangerous for Flourel.

After reading Flourel's point of view of her life, I don't think my sister will be liked by the soldiers and knights there though.

After all in their eyes my sister is a Saintess who did not do her own duty properly.

Most of them also has a bit of hatred in their heart for my sister everytime they witnessed how much Flourel struggled in the battle.

They keep thinking that why can't Saintess Amelia do the same thing as Saintess Flourel? Isn't she also a Saintess?

Of course I was only able to read a few people's thoughts thanks to Flourel who mentions their full names in her story.

At least I now know who to look out for if I ever meet with Flourel.

Hmmmm.... Should I make a stone tablet that shows the map of the whole world? If possible it should also be able to show the map of the labyrinth.

Based on the book I borrowed the labyrinth seems to have a very different entrance way in each time it opens so any maps made for the labyrinthin in the past might not be useful for now.

Of course there are cases when a place inside the labyrinth will looked very familiar with the map indicating that the inside of the labyrinth never really changes.

Only the difference in the entrance way can make the navigation very difficult so you have to pinpoint the place written in the map and connect it to the new map for future use.

The reason why there's only 1% map for the Rimeheldra kingdom was because the Kingdom was only able to encounter a labyrinth two times since its foundation.

The Kingdom was created more than thousand years ago when the labyrinth was already open and the founder was one of the people who caused it to fall asleep.

After it closes for 800 years it then opened again for the second time and this labyrinth had already closes 500 years ago.

Most people would probably forget it by now if only the historians did not bother to rewrite the old books every hundred years in time.

It's all thanks to them that knowledge from the past can be passed down to the people of today although most of those written books can be very different from the truth.
