Chapter 5. Strength in Numbers

Once the pack and I were farther away, Winter led the pack to a cave where the former luna could have her cubs. Little did we know there was a big old brown bear waiting for us. Winter snarled while the bear groweled. Turns out this cave is taken.

Winter can smell through hormonal imbalance that the previous Luna will give birth any minute. Winter and I jumped onto the bear and soon the other pack males are are lunging at the bear. There we tipped our head back and saw two bear cubs on the pine trees. The other warriors were trying to attack them, and I barked, to fend them away from the cubs.

Winter may be a bossy ass bitch, but she isn't cruel enough to leave cubs motherless. So Winter gave a mighty howl and I senced a mighty aura coming from both of us. That is when I heard the bear speak.

"Get away from me and my cubs!" Winter started to speak. "We aren't trying to hurt your cubs, we are trying to find a secure place for the previous Luna to have her cubs," Winter reprimanded. "Fine we will leave, anyways it's time that we left anyway."The cubs came down and soon left trailing with their mother.

The previous Luna started giving birth and I snarled at the males to go hunting for elk or deer's. "Winter, it's time to choose a beta and leave, I've got to get some rest." Winter chose the former alpha as beta by touching his nose with his snout. Winter smelled the air and noticed not in a too distance there is another threat.

Mountain lions. "Fuck, who knew being an Alpha would come with several challenges." Winter said annoyingly. The mountain lion tried launching itself toward the previous Luna and cubs that is when the whole pack surround the Luna and I faced off the lion.

Since I used to play with the local cats it wasn't to distinguish the cat swipes and jumps. Winter and I got swiped on the shoulder, it left a pretty large gash, that blood was pooling. We dodged underneath the mountain lion, and grabbed it by it's mid section. Our snout was accomidating its frail body that is when suddenly Winter chomped down and down came the mountain lion.

The whole pack started to twirl and lick me in gratitude, that is when Winter and I blacked out of exhaustion. The next morning the wolves brought winter and I several carcasses of meat, dear, elk, and even moose. The moose meet was rather large and was able to keep us sustained. Winter and I ordered the Beta to take over until nightfall.

Winter and I ran as fast as our legs could take us to a nearby stream, where we could wash ourself. Thank god I brought some heavy duty soap to get rid of the stench on our body. Once smelIed clean enough. We shifted back into my wolf form and went to the edge of the woods where I would get dressed.

It was still early morning and ran to my humble studio. Once I reached where my studio was. Wolf opened his door, while in full sports gear. "Came back from excersising?" I flushed and nodded my head. "Going out Adonis?" I said in a most unfashionable seductive tone. "Just for a run Cleopatra." I flushed again, and in a hurry got into my studio.

"Man, our mate makes the gods of olympus, look like subtle teenagers," Winter cooed in my head. "Winter either that is blasphemous, or severe compliment on Adonis." Winter purred and I went take a warm shower to start my day.
