Sugawara POV

High school

"ASAHI TO YOU!"  asahi ran up to the net and jumped up to spike the ball.

We were playing a practice game while waiting for the new first years to arrive. We are in our last year of high school and its our last chance at nationals. Asahi missed the spike and he fell to the floor. He clutched his hair in his hands and started to tear up. " Hey Asahi it's not your fault. The set wasn't right and the blockers would have blocked it anyway." I said trying to make sure he didn't give into the pressures of his inferiority complex. He jumped into my arms while I rubbed his back and tried to comfort him while daichi stood behind him and kneeled down to rub his back as well. The practice game ended and we walked to the bench. The new first years hadn't arrived yet and we were getting nervous. We heard yelling outside and we all went outside to see what was going on. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE IS WHAT I ASKED!" "I'M HERE FOR SCHOOL MR KING OF THE COURT. HOW ABOUT YOU!" the ravenette grabbed the short orange haired kid by the collar and brought him to his face. "Don't EVER call me that again you dumbass" He dropped the shorter kid to the floor. And turned around to be met with daichi giving them his signature glare. The ravenette bowed and introduced himself "my name is kageyama tobio and I'm a setter. I look forward to playing matches with you guys." I caught a glimpse of his wings and my eyes widened. "Kageyama would you mind coming over here with me for a second?" He nodded unsure of me and followed me to the side. "Sorry if this is over stepping but what happened to your wings. I've never seen so many scars..." "I- it's hard to talk about but what's your position on the team?" " I'm the official setter and the vice captain. Do you want the captain to be over here so you can tell us anything?" He nodded and I called daichi over to where we were. "Hey dai would you mind coming over here for a second. Leave Tanaka over there with him." Daichi started jogging over and then looked at me and kageyama confused. "Hello my name is sawamura daichi. You can call me daichi. What's up suga?" I nodded over to kageyama and he unfolded his wings and daichi eyes widened in shock. "What happened to them. If it's not overstepping any boundaries." Kageyama school his head as a sign that it was ok then he folded his wings on his back neatly before continuing "in middle school I was severely bullied by a group of guys and one day they kidnapped and tortured me for hours. Don't be surprised when we're changing into our volleyball gear or anything by the sight of my body please. I'm really self conscious about it. I feel like I can trust you guys to tell you this part especially because not even my mom knows about this. The guys that kidnapped me were my half brother and his two friends. They nailed my wings to a board and they cut up my body. My half brother told me that he's the reason that my father died and that's because he killed him." He started to cry and I reached out to comfort him. "Hey you don't have to continue. It's obviously a painful subject but thank you for telling us." He nodded and then took a few breathes to compose himself. He calmed down and then we walked back over to the group. As soon as we went back over kageyama grabbed the orange haired kid by the head and told him to day his name again. "M-my name is shoyo hinata and it's nice to meet you all!" I chuckled and then I introduced myself as well "nice to meet you hinata my name is koushi sugawara. You can call me suga. I'm the vice captain of the team and hope everyone gets along" We all take the rest off the day to get to know each other and become closer. An hour and a half before we had to close the gym up two more kids walked in. I hid behind daichi because of my anxiety. It makes me feel really self conscious and daichi just knows to let me hide until I'm comfortable. "My name is tadashi yamaguchi and I'm one of the first years joining the team this year." "I'm tsukkishima Kei and I'm the other first year joining the team." Everyone started to I troduce themselves and when it came to my turn I took a breathe and then stepped out from behind daichi and introduced myself. Everybody looked confused as to why I was acting this way and it made me uncomfortable and I started feeling a panic attack. I signed to daichi that I was going to have a panic attack and that we needed to go to the club room. "Ok. Let's go then." He signed back to me. "Ok team stay here and get to know each bother more. You will meet two teammates later but they aren't here right now."e and daichi walked out of the gym and I collapsed in his arms hyperventilating. He supported me until we got to the club room and were able to get my medication that calms me down. After a few minutes I could breathe again and I just threw myself into daichi embrace me as he whispered sweet nothings in my ear. " Daichi I don't know why I just had a panic attack but there is something about that tsukkishima guy that just triggers my anxiety." Daichi just rubbed my head u til I eventually fell asleep from crying for so long.

Daichi POV

I made sure that suga was asleep then I hoisted him onto my back and grabbed our bags. I walked I to the gym with suga on my back. Tanaka looked up and said "again. Don't worry I'll lock up you take him home and get him in bed cap." I thanked Tanaka and gave him the keys. I walked home and then called suga's mom.

On the phone

"Hello"

"Hey Mrs. Sugawara. Koushi passed out at practice so I brought him to my house for the night. I hope it's ok"

" Oh daichi of course it's ok. And I thought I told you to call me mom. Just make sure he's ok for me please."

"I will don't worry mrs- mom!"

Off the phone

I hung the phone up and took suga upstairs and then changed him into one of my shirts. Then I got up and changed as well. I climbed into the bed next to suga and pulled him close. He snuggled into my neck and hummed as a sign of being happy and content. When we woke up in the morning suga took his uniform and put it on as I put my uniform on. When we were done we grabbed some fruits for breakfast and left the house. When we got to the gym kageyama and hinata were warming up outside the gym and waved in our direction. Suga waved back and then grabbed my hand and squeezed it. I turned to him as I know that is a sign that he wants to say something to me in jsl. I wanna tell them about my disorders but I'm to nervous. Will you help me do it. I don't want to do it today but eventually I want to tell the whole team about it. I signed an ok and we looked back at the confused first years. I spoke up so suga didn't have to "me and suga speak in jsl because it's easier for us to communicate surprises we may have for the team without people finding out and spoiling the surprise. Our ace also knows some sign language so don't be confused if you see us three using it." This nodded in understanding and we all walked into the gym after I unlocked it and waited for the rest of the team to arrive.
