Setting

On the planet of Edhol in the year 358 a great war took place. One that all the then current nations took part in. Over the course of this 37 year war many battles took place, countless lives were lost. Some nations fell while others rose to take their place.

Eventually an uneasy truce was called and a month later new borders had been formed, peace was agreed upon and the new countries began the arduous task of rebuilding what they could after the destruction which had been wrought.

Eighty years have passed since then and many changes have been made to the countries and the world as a whole.

The peoples are largely beginning to thrive again, trade has commenced, cities rebuilt and the once large and numerous pirate fleets have been greatly reduced.

Reduced not eradicated.

Piracy is a vital part of not only trade but in keeping the nations in check. Where would we be without the rare, the exotic and the somewhat dubious nature of the goods brought.

Certainly the nobility would be far less content with the more common luxuries and perhaps resort to making things more difficult for the common folk.

Without pirates the likelihood of increased taxes upon the poor and wrongful imprisonments would surely rise and so we must deal with pirates, encourage them to bring their trade here to Kabrairhiel, in order to appease the nobles.

Afterall, we don't want another war on our hands.

This was the argument the merchant guild had made and many agreed it made sense so it was put into effect immediately.
