Chapter - 54 [ A Vampire's Enemy Is Blood Itself! ]

Opening the door to the big building next to the small barn-like place they came through, Glare led them to a room. While walking Jace asked,

"Did you sense her this time, Adam..?"

He actually forgot to check. So he stopped on his tracks and closed his eyes. After seeing the 3d projection of everything around him, he sighed.

"This city is too large to sense anything. I can say I couldn't sense her from here to a fountain on our west and a four floor tower."

"Oh.. That means she isn't in the Central." Jace replied. As they continued walking Adam asked,

"Central..? What are the other places..?"

This time Glare said, "There are Central, Destat, Valant, and Lurculi. Central is a street, ruled by the noble family of Xerons. Destat, Valant and Lurculi are also streets ruled by the families with respective names. Since Central is the street, joining the centre of the city and other families, in other words border line, it is called such unlike other streets. Of course this is not all the families of vampire society. There are others, however, they are on other islands."

Adam smiled wryly because he was going to ask her that, but she seemed to be able to read his mind. But he was surprised. He never thought that the entire vampire kingdom was on different islands. It was no wonder their ancestors created a transportation spell. Although he was surprised by the spell, he swallowed it as, it wasn't operated using the space element. It was just travelling fast using dark elements and dark mist. However it was a very brilliant idea considering this world doesn't have knowledge about other elements.

Stopping before a room, Glare opened it before welcoming them. After making them sit, she clapped her hands, which was answered by a girl wearing maid clothes appearing through the door. She paused seeing some unfamiliar faces, however she acted with proper etiquette and stood at the side before bowing.

Glare said, "Bring the delicacies. Also bring a bottle of A-class blood."

The maid bowed again before leaving without saying anything. Adam looked at Glare with a deadpan look as he didn't want to drink blood. Moreover, when he heard her words, 'A-class blood' he understood, it's human blood.

Seeing his stare, Glare's mouth twitched. However she ignored it before saying, "I apologize once again, Mr.Adam. I was very rude to you."

He only raised his brow when he heard her sincere apology. He nodded. Seeing this, Glare smiled a little. Then the maid who left earlier came back rolling a small cart and stopped behind them. Placing the food and snacks on the table in front of them, she took out three glasses and opened the bottle. After pouring the blood, she waited behind Glare for further orders.

Seeing the glasses filled with blood, Adam was at a loss. He actually didn't feel that great about drinking blood. Of course he will happily oblige if it is for his woman, however he wasn't a fan of wanting to drink the blood of an unknown person.

Seeing his hesitation she was surprised. She knows he can transform into a vampire. She even saw it. However, it was only for a moment. Seeing he can be a vampire if he wanted to, she wondered why he was rejecting the drink. She shook her head and looked at Jace.

"Please drink my lady. This is the blood of an 18 year old virgin."

However the next words of Jace shocked her.

"Sorry Glare, I won't drink anymore blood."

Her eyes widened. As a vampire and a Royal to boot, she knows, Jace can withstand the thirst for blood for a long time. However her words were not saying, she stopped for now, she said she won't drink anymore.

"I know that you are a Royal vampire My lady. But it isn't good to endure your thirst. It will affect your mentality."

Making a confused face, Jace said, "No. I didn't mean I stopped drinking blood. I am saying, I won't drink blood from outside anymore. If I want blood, all I need is to ask Adam."

Her words were within Glare's expectations. However she asked, "I know that. But why stop drinking from the bottle..? Could it be you would only drink from him..?"

Jace nodded with a smile. Glare sighed and nodded. The maid quickly emptied the glass. Seeing this, Jace glanced at Adam. Understanding what she needs, he smiled before cutting his hand a little and poured the glass full of blood.

Seeing this scene, Glare gulped. 'Why..?'

She couldn't look away from the blood that's flowing from his wrist like a non stop spring. Ignoring her reaction, Jace quickly took the glass and sipped it slowly after Adam pulled his hand.

Seeing an envious look from Glare, Jace smiled internally before gulping down the contents in one go. This made Glare deflate like a balloon. Jace then said,

"Pwaah..! I can't just express the quality of your blood Adam..! It filled my stomach but It's so tasty that I feel it's addictive."

Her words made Glare and even the maid who is still standing with her eyes closed to gulp. Seeing their reactions, Jace smiled before asking, "Do you want a taste of it, Glare?"

This made Glare, the maid, and even Adam to widen their eyes. What is this idiot saying..? Adam thought. Then before he could say anything, Glare nodded shyly before saying,

"I don't know why, but the moment he cut and I smelled its odour, I felt my thirst assaulting me. I don't know if I can even control it."

The maid nodded even though nobody was looking at her. Seeing that she felt something from his blood, Adam began to think. He still doesn't know what secrets his body has. So he decided.

Smiling a little, Adam made a cut again and filled the two glasses. Although it would have been dangerous for a normal human, Adam being Adam wasn't that much affected by the blood loss. Then Adam waved his hands at Glare. She gulped again. She thought, 'Was he going to give her two glasses of raw blood...?' However she pouted the next moment when she heard his words.

"Try it Ms.Pearl. You too Ms.Maid." Though the maid was surprised, she waited for her master to give permission. Nodding her head, Glare allowed her to accept his generous gift.

Feeling her blood boiling and heart beating, she couldn't hide her excitement as she hurriedly tried to take the glass, but was stopped by Jace's hand. Asking with her eyes, Glare heard Jace say, "Are you sure you want it Glare...? I remember you saying he's nothing more than a blood bank...."

Glare could only stay silent. However she was rescued by Adam lightly flicking Jace's forehead. "Stop teasing her..." Jace pointed her tongue at him.

Taking the glass in her hand, Glare waited a little before smelling the contents. The others could hear her deeply inhaling.

Her eyes widened slightly before she thought, 'Just what is this..? Blood? I can't even express if this is blood or something else.' She then drank the contents with elegance, like a noble lady.

Seeing her mistress drinking, the maid also brought the glass to her mouth after smelling the contents. She was expressionless, however inside she was very excited. It was very hard to get raw blood like this without killing anyone. As they have a law which prohibits them from killing other races, they can only drink blood brought from trading.

There was a slurping sound of two people drinking something like it's a delicacy. After that however, there was only silence. Like a statue that was built years ago the two became stiff.

Without any warning, the maid suddenly lost her grip as the glass began falling down. Seeing this, Adam caught the glass with telekinesis and brought it back to the table. There was a loud thud. Turning towards the maid, Adam and Jace saw her kneeling on the ground and shivering like a lamb.

He glanced at Glare to see if she's the same, only to see, her face turning red and her hands trembling. As she was still sitting, she didn't have to worry about falling.

Asking Jace what happened telepathically, he got an answer, "For a vampire, blood is like our life, food and many more. Human blood is only available in a small amount as it is pretty hard to trade with a human country. So we can only get the blood of a weaker human or someone who's willing. We have something that's called bloodline. It decides our future, talent, and strength. In my case, my blood is stronger than Glare, while your blood is something we can't measure. With a strong bloodline, one can control other vampires with ease even if they are stronger than you. Of course the traitor suddenly got his bloodline improved to the same level as my father. So it is impossible for me to defeat him using bloodline like that if that's what you were going to ask me."

"Continuing on my words, The blood of a strong bloodline is like an aphrodisiac to us. Of course since we only drink our partner's blood, it was impossible to just attract every vampire. In this case, as you are stronger than us, due to your bloodline which is at least as strong as mine, Glare and the maid would of course be affected by it."

"You knew it but didn't stop them..? Why..?" Adam asked without any change in expression. Jace responded, "It's nothing. I knew like you said. However, I wanted to let her know, that you are not an ordinary person."

He could only smile wryly at her words. He was only letting her have a taste because, he knows it's attractive to vampires. But he never thought only a little sip would affect them in the form of an Aphrodisiac.

Seeing the maid struggling to keep her body from shivering, Jace said, "Go to another room and wait for your mistress to arrive."

The maid who heard this vaguely, wanted to ask her mistress for permission, however seeing she's not paying any attention to her, she gave up and lifted herself up slowly before waking away.

Staring at the floor, both Adam and Jace could see small droplets of black stains on the carpet following the maid. As they both understood what it was, they ignored it. Then looking at Glare, Adam knew she was in a different position as unlike, the maid who is a low level vampire, Glare being a royal vampire would definitely feel more than just arousal. So to make no more problems, he stood up saying, "Me and Jace are leaving for touring the city. You should relax a little." he walked towards the door and left. Jace also followed him.

Seeing both Adam and Jace walking away, Glare felt an unknown feeling of panic. However she held her desire back thinking about what she shouted in front of him....

Walking through the corridor, Adam sighed heavily. Seeing this Jace's face turned sad as she asked, "Was I wrong..?"

Hearing her words he stopped walking and turned towards her. He lifted his hand towards her head. Seeing this she immediately closed her eyes hard. However unlike what she expected, he heavily patted her head which forced her eyes to open as he said, "No. I was just simply surprised or should I say shocked. I was wondering why you were doing this..."

Jace quickly made a thoughtful expression and said, "As I said previously, I wanted her to know that you are not an ordinary person. I wanted anyone who's going to reject my feelings for you to suffer under you and change their views."

He shuddered at her thinking. "What do you mean suffer under me..?"

"I am talking about everything about you. Maybe you thought of something naughty ~?"

Adam stared at her with a deadpan face as he responded to her words, "You know what will happen at the end. And you know what my answer is."

She nodded. "It's true. I was previously trying to hook Glare with you. However seeing her behavior towards you, I found her needed for a little punishment."

He questioned, "Punishment..? What punishment..?"

"I am going to tell her it's okay to have sex with you for once. Of course you can decide about the maid. But for Glare, I want you to have sex with her only for once."

"I know what you are trying to say. However, I am not a fan of making others suffer. Nor do I like to engage in a one time relationship."

She chuckled as she already thought about his responses. "I know. That's why, this is a punishment. After having sex with you, she will feel the desire for more. She may even ask you for a child. However, when she hears it's only a one time thing, she will feel restless. That is her punishment. Of course if you want to forgive her, and make her yours, I won't say anything~~"

He sighed again. Jace seemed to be trying to increase his harem. He asked his doubt, "Are you trying to add more women to my circle of lovers, Jace..?"

She nodded. "That's right! I want you to be the sole ruler of this world, where every woman desires your touch and affection. This is only the first section of my plans. Glare and the maid are only trial subjects...!"

As if she said something amazing, she puffed her chest and seemed proud of her thinking. Adam smiled wryly at her plans. He wasn't going to tell her to stop as he knows she is doing this for him. Maybe she knew he needs more than just a few people near him to guide or control or protect him.

"Do as you like. You are not going to stop even if I say something. So Glare and the maid are your first targets..? Who are the others you decided..?"

Smiling widely at his words, she pounced on him before hugging him tightly. Then she said, "I haven't found anyone else. However I have someone in mind."

"Oh..? Who's it..?"

"My sister....!" She made a smug posture and said. This time Adam was shocked. Why is she saying it with a proud look..? Wouldn't she get jealous of her sister..?

Understanding his thoughts, she explained, "You don't have to worry. There is a reason for me to do this."

He understood he wasn't going to ask anymore. However he asked, "I guess if you are this beautiful, your sister must be at least the same or more. So, I can't just reject her because she's not beautiful. I want to tell you, if she isn't interested in me, only one time, I won't take it to heart after that. In other words, if she says she isn't interested in me just one time, then we won't talk about it anymore. Of course if it's her, I am more than ready to accept. But I am not going to force her."

Jace smiled even more as she exclaimed, "I don't have any doubt that she will reject you. In fact I am wondering if she would propose to you at your first meeting."

She chuckled saying this. Adam now was thinking what kind of idiot was her sister. However he was going to keep that for the future. Now he took a serious face as he said, "Now, I am going to fly over the city and try to find her. What about you..?"

"I will come with you." They both left the building and flew to the air still disguised.....
