Chapter - 14 [ Journey ]

The whole dining table in the house of Aldians was silent. Arthur coughed and broke the silence by saying, "I hope you have heard from your mother about your future plans...?"

Adam and Amanda nodded. He continued, "Since your training and strength has already surpassed the limits of a normal 15 year old, we decided to let you have a long vacation."

It was decided that a child of age 15 must reach knight rank with their own hard work if they want to enroll in an academy. But since Adam was already Arch Knight or higher already, he was an exception. In the case of Magisters, a child must become an Intermediate Rank Magister. However being a talented gem, Amanda already reached the rank of peak Intermediate. So she was excluded as well.

"In this vacation, your Grandpa would be teaching you both Magic, and since they are Magister based Family, you have to train swords on your own Adam."

He nodded. He was actually okay with it. Sure, the training of a professional could help him. However, if he is given time, he is sure that he can become a unique swordsman in no time.

"So where is it actually father...? I mean, we've never been there...?"

Arthur nodded and said, "It's actually really far from here. It's situated between the border of our country and the forest of elves. So that place is heavily guarded. Elves are pretty and beautiful ones. So their kind often gets forced to be a slave and killed. So our father, your grandpa is making sure that nothing is gonna happen on our border."

Adam was excited. An elf was a must in fact of a fantasy world. Hearing about them, he was looking forward to it. Seeing his face, Arthur said,

"Make sure you won't make trouble for your grandpa. He is pretty silly about his grandchildren, but he is a serious man. So no trouble. Okay..?"

They both nodded.

"Also, about your engagement, Amanda has to be from another family to avoid any problems from the shadows of society. So we will be letting my brother adopt you. With that there won't be any problems. Of course it is only on paper, as you will always be my daughter."

Both Adam and Amanda were happy to hear their father's words. Then after talking for a while they returned to doing their own things.

One week later...

During this one week, Adam trained his sword more and flirted with Amanda. They went out on a date and became even more close. Last day, a carriage with luxurious painting and decorations was brought to the mansion. Arthur also arranged some escorts as well. However knowing Adam's strength, he wasn't worried. However it wasn't wrong to be ready all the time.

Day of departure....

"You must write to us every day, okay..?" Hearing the absurd request of his mother, Adam said with a cramped face, "I will send one each week Mom.."

"Oh no! My son is denying my request..! Dear! He hates me now..!" She said teary eyed while waiting for her husband to say something. Arthur was smiling seeing his wife's cute face. He turned towards Adam and said, "Be safe! Both of you.."

He hugged them both and smiled. Getting inside the carriage, Adam and Amanda said goodbyes to his parents before it started moving.

There were six Guards escorting them. One of them was Arch Knight level and others were Knights level. Although they were ashamed to be his guards, they still obeyed their Lord's orders.

He heard from his mother that they need at least a week to reach the place. Since their place was relatively close, it wasn't much of a trouble. The household of Aldians and his mother's family were both near border cities, it was actually closer than going to the Royal capital. It was actually a month-long journey if they were in a carriage. It was very long. However he was planning to change that.

During their trip, they stopped at some small villages and green fields to rest. A lot of incidents happened as well.

At last after one week passed,

"Wow..! What an amazing forest..." Adam was enjoying the beauty of the forest. It was very big. Even after jumping high in the air, and trying to see the end, he felt like the forest was endless. As they were moving, something caught his eyes. He felt as if something was moving suddenly inside the dense forest. However seeing nothing after checking, he ignored it.

After a little while, they reached a big gate made with wood and clay. It was actually like a natural phenomenon. He felt like it was actually something born in this forest. However feeling no vitality within it, he shook his head. However he squinted his eyes seeing some men waiting at the gate.

Arriving at the gates, the guard leader handed a letter to the one standing there. After seeing the seal of Aldians, he immediately nodded before opening the door. As the Aldians were a very influential family, there wasn't any idiot who would try to fake the Duke's seal. So they didn't doubt Adam's party.

After passing the gate, they both saw that the road was full of nature's beauty. The ground wasn't bricked, but it was plain enough so that it would not create any discomfort. The two sides of the road were planted with trees and flowers.

After traveling for half an hour, Adam saw a huge mansion like his, but a little smaller, painted with green and white. He can say for sure that it matched its surroundings very much. There he saw an old man in his middle sixties standing, probably waiting for them. He can guess from the old man's looks that, it was his grandfather. He had a powerfully built body and his age wasn't actually easier to see through if it wasn't for him.

Circling the ground just in front of the entrance to the mansion and stopping next to them, Adam opened the door to his carriage.

His grandfather wasn't that excited. But he could still feel that there is love in his eyes. Seeing a young man with Silver hair and amethyst eyes, like that of his daughter, he smiled nostalgia. However his surprise didn't end as he saw a beautiful girl with the same features getting out of the carriage with the help of the young man.

As he was about to welcome them, his body froze and his face became serious. Seeing through their strength, he was too shocked. His Son only told him that there is actually a surprise for him. He said he will understand once he sees them. He actually thought they were here for a small vacation. However seeing their strength, he understood everything pretty much. As he was about to ask them,

"It's nice to meet you, Grandfather.. I am the son of Arthur Aves Aldians, my name is Adam Aves Aldians...and this here is..."

"Daughter of Arthur Aves Aldians, my name is Amanda Aves Aldians. It's a pleasure to meet you, grandfather..."

He thought his grandchildren were still kids. However seeing their manners, he complimented his son in his heart. Then he laughed before saying, "Very good. So you two are their second children huh..."

He wasn't able to go and see them because of some problems in the country. He wanted to. However, he couldn't. So he was happy to know that his grandchildren were very good kids.

"My name is Asil von Malevier. I am as you know is your grandfather. You can call me grandpa Asil...!"

"Yes Grandpa Asil..!" They both exclaimed in an excited tone. Asil nodded before welcoming them inside....
