A Predator

A creature with dark blue skin could be seen surrounded by Scorpions on an extensive island.

The Scorpions are coming at me en masse, they just don't give up, It's been six hours since I began decimating them but I dont feel any ounce of fatigue.

These damn monsters tried to kill me, they made me run for my life, they thought I was prey, and worst of all, they made me feel fear.

Now it's my turn to show them whose boss, I'm going to show them who the predator and who the prey is.

I could move better in this form now, but something is wrong, the number of Scorpions isn't decreasing, in fact they're....increasing!.

This isn't right, I start running through them, whatever was causing this had to be killed first and foremost or it'll all be for naught, the more I run the more the denser the number of scorpions, at first there were only a hundred and fifty at most, now they almost four hundred and counting, more and more scorpions were rapidly disintegrating but it didn't seem to make a difference.

I could see something in the distance, the light of the sun was bouncing off it, I kept forcing my way through and the clear image of what it was came into view, it was a gate.

A large red gate, as I was running towards it, that's when I felt pain, I winced. looking at where it came from I saw a Scorpion far bigger than the others and on it had shining Silver colored armour on its pincers, the legs, and the middle region of it's body but none on its stinger, the rest of the scorpions backed out and surrounded the two of us to battle one on one as they surrounded and began to spectate In a circle form, It seems this was their leader, the boss, the emperor scorpion.

If I could smile right now I would, it was just what I was looking for, killing him will leave them without a leader and cause disorder, but I had to be seriously wary of it, it was the first thing to harm me in this form, well it's good, now I know that I can be hurt but I didnt see what he did.

The Emperor Scorpion and I were at a standoff, waiting for each other to make the first move, the gate was still bringing in more Scorpions, I needed to end this fight fast.

I run towards him with my hand in front ready to decimate this son of a bitch, but to my surprise, he caught it with his pincers and punctured a hole right through my hand.

Ahhh!!!

That hurt like hell, it seemed to have noticed it too, as he advanced very fast toward me trying to take advantage of the situation, that's when I saw what he was using to hurt me, it was sharp yellow glow covered its pincers at that moment, it was aimed at my head and I couldn't let that happen.

I quickly jumped up in anticipation of the coming strike, the scorpion hadn't anticipated this possibility so it was confused when it's enemy disappeared from its view, by the time it understood;

BOOM!!

A fist from above smashed it into the sand spreading cracks all through its exoskeleton and put it in extreme disorientation, I didn't give it any time to recover, I kept consecutively punching it deeper into the sand, it covered itself with the yellow glow from before to boost its defense.

CRIEE!!

When it realized its fate was almost sealed, it called for help, the other Scorpions quickly attacking me on all sides, though they were disintegrating at a rapid pace, their numbers were still too much.

"Tch" I was pissed off at the current turn of events, they constantly shrouded me with numbers, I won't survive much longer at this rate, the emperor scorpion's exoskeleton was seriously tough, I needed to get a few more punches in, but the scorpions weren't going to allow it.

While fending off the swarm of Scorpions, my eyes fixed on a particular object, it was the gate.

A ridiculous idea suddenly sprouted in my brain.

Hmm....will it work, well there was only one way to find out.

I leaped off the Scorpions body towards the gate, it was a gamble, but just maybe, it could work, as my hands touched the gate, it became unstable and started fluctuating and then;

DOM!

Like a bell ring, space warped and the gate closed itself up, I noded with a satisfied expression, but it made me wonder more and more about what exactly my power was or if this was a regular thing here?

I turned around to face the tens of Scorpions that remained, they paused in shock, not understand or maybe expecting this turn of events, and then

CRIEE!

They attacked all at once with desperation, this time I began to make quick work of the Scorpios, but I had to kill the biggest threat first and that was Emperor scorpion.

I lifted his body with his stinger, his exoskeleton was almost completely healed but I wasn't going to wait around till it did, I carried him up with his stinger, and then I turned him into a baseball bat.

I started using him to bash and smash all nearby scorpions and it worked effectively.

"Why didn't I think of this before?" I couldn't help ask myself, and as if on queue the answer came, the Emperor Scorpion's body disintegrated, it couldn't keep up the yellow glow.

Riiight, that's why.

The Scorpions scrambled in all directions running for their lives.

Then a voice I knew all too well was heard inside my head.

[So you cleared the gate?]

"No, I didn'- fucking hell!!" I jumped in fright wondering if it was a Scorpion talking, then I recognized the voice

"Don't do that, wait a minute you're the asshole who sent me here, and then you abandoned me!"

"What the fuck man, what I ever do to you"

[There was nowhere else available]

"What the Fuck is that supposed to mean? huh? you worthless piece of shit, show yourself"

Then a blue-colored holographic head that looked very familiar appeared right in front of me.

"Yes, yes it is,

First of all, why did you send me here?

[Your current body is the same as a natural disaster, no it's worse actually or should I have put you in a city so you could obliterate an entire nation?]

Ok, you have a point.

[This is an island filled with monsters after an outbreak, by the time they were noticed, it was completely infested, the hunters first sent all died, after that the island was blacklisted and seeing that the monsters couldn't harm anyone because they couldn't swim, no government wanted to waste resources and risk sending available hunters on a suicide mission]

[I sent you where I was sure they won't be human casualties and it seems I made the right choice]

"Ok fine, you proved your point".

"Secondly, what did you mean by the " What are you" question from earlier.

[The ability to disintegrate matter is not a conventional ability you see every day and your means of doing it doesn't root from a skill from this world, its stems from an element I've never come across before, but one thing is sure though, it's not meant be wielded by a human or any life form I know of, hence the question "what are you?]
