The Promise III

Leo: "Good morning mom."

Lana: "How are you son and how was your night."

Leo: "It was terribly awful."

Lana: "What's wrong? I sensed you weren't okay yesterday, so talk to me let me see if I can help."

Leo: "What actually caused your divorce with dad I need to know what happened."

Lana: "What has come over you Leo. You have never asked me this question before, why now? did anyone say something to you son?"

Leo: "please answer my question now or else you are never going to see me again."

Lana: "Please Leo let's not do this. You don't need any of this now. It's already in the past for both of us so for God sake."

Leo: "Really! So you think it's in the past  and I don't have any reason to ask why you left my father! wow!"

Lana: "that's not what I meant by that, please understand me am your mother. I have been there for you even when no one was."

Leo: "Yes because of your greed, and because you took me away from those people who were ready to be there for me."

Lana: "Look boy you have to go to school or you will be late and I have nothing more to say to you! are my understood?"

Leo: "You are so full of yourself that's why you don't care about my happiness. You know what...I hate you so much Lana."

Lana: "What? Did you just call me by my name are you okay? What is the meaning of all this? Is it your father again? Has he been calling you when I told him to stay away, what has gotten into you."

Leo: "I am not your son and you are not my mother and I promise to find my father where ever he is from now on."

Lana: "Are you serious right now! Alright fine I'll tell you everything that happened between the two of us so please calm down."

Leo: "I'm sorry I can't go to school today because you have to tell me everything."

Lana: "Okay! Fine I will tell you everything. Before your dad and I were married he was cheating on me with my best friend Mali. He didn't know that I was aware of the both of them, they have been doing so for 2 years and I couldn't do anything because of how much I loved your dad. It was hard, so one day I approached him about it, just before the day of our wedding, he denied everything. He said he wasn't doing anything with my best friend and promised not to even talk to her since I didn't like it."

Leo: "So!!"

Lana: "So I felt really betrayed by the man I loved. Though I still wanted to be by his side, because at that moment I didn't care not untill I caught them on our wedding day, having sex by the corner. Then I promised myself to take revenge for everything they had put me through."

Leo: "But no matter what he was your husband. the man you said you loved with your heart."

Lana: "You won't understand Leo because you are still a baby. You don't know what love is, you don't know what it means to love someone and that person doesn't realize how much you do it's hurt alot."

Leo: "No I do because I no how it feels for that person not to understand. Mom so was that why you left dad, because last time I checked he was all over you; he loves you Soo much. Are you trying to say that it was all lies."

Lana: "No Leo your dad loves me but at that moment I just wanted revenge for me to be satisfied so I thought of something like cheating on him too for my satisfaction. One day his friend Alex came to visit while your dad was at work so I took advantage of that and asked Alex to sleep with me. at that moment he was freaking out but had no choice but to do it."

Leo: "What?"

Lana: "Am so sorry you have to hear this now."

Leo: "But mom why! If that's the path dad chose, did you have to do the same. Must you become a monster like him, you had your own life, why live someone else's kind of life? you are supposed to be different mom."

Lana: "I know I made a terrible mistake and am trying my best to amend but it's too late now."

Leo: "I don't understand too late what do you mean."

Lana: "Hmmm.... Am very sorry to say this the man you think is your dad is not your father."

Leo: "What! Are you sure you know what you are saying mom? okay fine let's stop talking now things might be too much on you let's talk next time. Am very sorry for bringing this up to you."

Lana: "Leo please listen to me."

Leo: "No!! Mom I can't because you don't know what you are saying so I will just give you a break."

Lana: "Your biological father is Alex not Bonat am serious, it was a mistake I didn't know it was going to turn out this way am very sorry."

Leo: "No!! That can't be, my father is Bonat not Alex. I don't even know who that bastard is I only know my father and that's all I can say for now."

Lana: "I didn't mean for things to be like this. when I told Alex I was pregnant he got scared and ran away, I had no idea of his whereabouts, I kept looking but I couldn't find him, so I just gave up and lied to your father that am carrying his child. he was so happy, he showed me love like never before, he took really good care of me and I was still carrying a lot of guilt within me. it was so painful, but there was nothing I could do."

Leo: "Are you human at all do you even have a heart?"

Lana: "Am very sorry son please forgive me, I didn't know that your father Bonat knew that I and Alex has a secret affair. And when he approached me about it, I put all the blame on him. and that was how he found out that you were not his son."

Leo: "why me! Is this the life you chose mom? Answer me!"

Lana: "The shame was too much that's why I couldn't stay, I had to get a divorce immediately so that we could move to your grandma's in the United States."

Leo: "Stay away from me it hurts that I was conceived by cheaters like you and that man and dad couldn't say a word to me, he just let us go!"

Lana: "He never wanted to hurt you Leo please try to calm down okay! And listen to me."

Leo: "Am never listening to you ever again I hate you so much! you have been deceiving me all these time about everything! Why did you give birth to me in the first place why! give me an answer and stop staring at me like that."

Lana: "I never meant it to be like this I swear Leo believe me am sorry!!!"

Leo: "How could my own mom do this to me? you said you love me, why did you lie? why didn't you tell me from the start. I was innocent I didn't do anything wrong."

Lana: "Yes I know you are innocent but you were still a little boy then and you wouldn't understand even though I sat you down to tell you everything. I understand how you feel and it's not your fault."

Leo: "Was it supposed to be my fault? I didn't know it was supposed to be my fault. fine, everything that happened is all my fault are you okay now."

Lana: "Son please calm down I beg you Leo stop all this it won't change anything! I wish I could turn back time but I can't and everything is not your fault. it was the revenge I chose to take that is affecting me now. there's no going back from here, we just have to move on with what has happened please!"

Leo: "Where is Alex?"

Lana: "I don't know, it's been years I saw him last, and the last time we met was when I told him I was pregnant."

 Leo: "What will I tell my friends and if I do tell them what do you think they will call me, what? say something?"

Lana: "Just have a sit and calm your head and your mind down, and everything will be fine. don't think about friends for now because you don't need them please! I'm on my knees."

Leo: "Excuse me I'm going to my room to take a nap, don't come looking for me cause I am not available!"

Lana: "Alright I won't disturb you, but don't lock your door please cause I'm scared. just take it easy on yourself."

Leo: "A Life full of lies."
