Whispers filled the grand hall of the castle.
Before the crowd of nobles and civilians, Princess Laticia was chained and standing tall before her fate.
"Princess Laticia, her birth cost the Queen's life…"
A whisper slithered through the crowd.
"She lived in that isolated palace. Can you imagine such a life for a royal blood?"
Another whisper added, with a blend of pity and contempt.
The whispers shifted, the tones hardening.
"She dared to try to overthrow the King!"
"The Princess used the Duke for her ambition!"
"She is evil! She even tried to kidnap the Crown Prince!"
In the growing storm of whispers, the trail continued.
The King's voice boomed throughout the hall
"Princess Laticia shall be imprisoned in the Great Abyss!" His voice echoed.
The words hung heavy in the room, a death sentence concealed as imprisonment.
The Great Abyss, a tower by the cliff-edge of the kingdom, was no less than a grave. No one ever returned from the Abyss.
Gasp swept through the crowd with a new wave of whispers.
"The Great Abyss! No one ever returns from that tower"
"Sentenced to death, ain't she?"
The whispers grew louder, shock and fear rippling through the murmuring crowd.
The sentence was clear - the Princess was meant to die.
As the Princess was led away, the whispers trailed behind her like a mournful wind.
"You finally did what you wanted, didn't you? Your Majesty."
Princess Laticia's voice resonated in the grand hall, a note of elegant defiance amidst the gasps and whispers.
Her eyes met the King's, a quiet challenge in their depths.
As the guards moved to escort her away, she continued,
"My only sin to you was my birth. Now, you have everything you always wanted."
Her voice, though soft, carried throughout the hall.
With a final glance over her shoulder, she added,
"I wish you the best."
