Kalliope took a look at the old thick book that weighed more than she had expected it to be. She let out a faint grunt when the book fell into her arm from the shelf. Her knees bent slightly at the sudden weight that caught her off-guard.
Then, she slowly adjusted her grip on the book. Still, she felt its heaviness holding her down. It felt as though the writer was emphasizing the importance of the book content to be as heavy. Hence, Kalliope decided to approach the window at the back and sat at the window seat.
She glanced at the scenery outside when she heard a faint explosion and caught a group of students at practicing spells at the lawn. One man who seemed to be the teacher was guiding one of the students whose magic backfired on him and resulted in his hair getting charred. Kalliope raised an eyebrow and couldn't help but let out a disdainful snort before turning her focus back on the book.
