The Villainess Is A Beast Tamer

“Sorry, Theron doesn’t like guests,” she sneered, glaring at the man who decided to bother her. with a finger still on the collar of the large tiger, she walked forward dangerously close to him with her not so little friend in tow. “He’s also not too fond of being interrupted before meal time.” this time, she let go of the collar, allowing the beast to pounce as she licked her lips, watching as the intruder tried to hide behind his arms, only to get bored and pull at the leash right before he was mauled. Bending down, she gave him a good few scratches under the neck and a chaste kiss, before focusing back on him. “Seems like you didn’t wet yourself there, congrats. You did better than we expected.” she laughed, it was then he saw not one more set of eyes, but over twenty sets of predatory gazes on him. “Here’s some friendly advice, your majesty. Try running, and they’ll pounce.” with that, she walked off with her tiger, only to be stopped as he grabbed her wrist, breaking free of his cold sweat. “Please, don’t leave me alone here!” he whimpered, his eyes looked as sad as the wolves whenever she’d stop petting them. closing her eyes, she pondered for a moment. “If I do, will you do me a favor in return?” she asked, her expression never once shifting. nodding frantically, she pulled his own wrist, releasing her’s from his grip and walked him beside her as she took him out and away from the cats. As they continued walking, he tried to break the silence. “Thank…” he started but she interrupted. “Don’t thank me yet. The birds can be quite aggressive when mating, it’s going to be a few minutes, a pure miracle you didn’t die sooner.” she told him, still walking leisurely as she wanted to ensure Theron got his exercise. Gripping his wrist harder as a warning, she finally came to an abrupt stop. “Annul our engagement, and stay away from my family. Do not ever speak to me again.” she ordered, the beast growling up at the prince. “No!” it was now her turn to be surprised as he bowed, head nearly touching the pavement. “Anything but that, I will do anything my lady wants whether it be gold or asking for the most expensive jewelry. But the one thing I will never do is annul our engagement!” His eyes sparkled, and for the first time she saw confidence within them. Just why was he so insistent on marrying her to the point he went from crying to a totally different person! As her mouth hung agape, she heard the yelling of another boy. “Theia!” It was Nyx. ——————————————— What’s worse than finding yourself reincarnated in a novel you read and not being the main character? Search Into The Forest

For the rest of the evening the Duke was nowhere to be seen, he really just brought her over, stared at her, then left her with his attendant for hours. She managed to get some walking practice, but the attendant walking over to where she was in a few steps and praising her made her feel just a tad bit angry.

When Isaac came to pick her up, the Duke still hadn't returned much to his delight, he didn't need to see him. While he walked back towards his room with her, she got the glimpse of someone moving quickly, but couldn't quite put her finger on it, chalking it up to her imagination. There were far too many people in the castle anyways with all the staff.

That night was one of her best rests so far all week, compared to being out on the road. Money can't buy you happiness they say? Well that's a lie. Money can buy the absolute best of best materials and that made her incredibly happy. It would make her happier if she could live her whole life without fear of dying, too.

After a few more hours of brief resting, he finally woke up at the sound of someone's footsteps at the bottom of his room, the noise of someone climbing up the wall as he expected by now.

"Little Elevenths still asleep, huh? Makes ya wonder what the Duke did to er'." Nyx commented while climbing through the window, immediately shutting it behind him. Rubbing his neck, he cracked it to the side with a little sigh.

"They had to give us rooms so high up." He grumbled, joining Isaac at the bed, tossing the bag around his hips towards him. His hair was tied up in a high ponytail with a thin sheer black face veil over his mouth and nose. his attire was mainly black, from his shirt to his gloves to his boots, the only thing that really stuck out were his golden eyes.

Likewise, Isaac changed into his attire, a similar outfit to Nyx's, although he stood out a bit more with such naturally light features, silver eye and blonde hair, it didn't matter too much. Taking his weapon out of the closet, Nyx almost kissed it as he told it how much he missed it, Isaac watching with disgust.

Fixing his veil, he judged the time outside, a small breath while using his magic to lift her up not to wake her. They couldn't leave her alone, even with the second wife away. She'd already targeted them on the way, no doubt the Duke knew it, just never mentioned it. Even so, it wasn't his problem if she gets punished for injuring the first wife on the way.

Moving to the open balcony, Isaac jumped off the railings only for the wind to elegantly land him at the bottom, followed by Nyx beside him, making no sound as well as he landed clutching his spear. "Ya could of told me the balcony door was open." He whispered huffed.

"You're the idiot who couldn't figure that out." Isaac retorted in his own whisper, pulling out the map from the bag Nyx gave him, looking at the places the guards were stationed. It was easy for the two to avoid them, even with a baby. Nyx was silent and fast while Isaac was silent and graceful.

After a few minutes of traversing around the castle, they finally made it to the forest where the hunt was being held behind a large gate. It'd be better to not leave any fingerprints by climbing, good thing that the Argyris speciality involved that.

The wind from Isaac easily lifted them up and across, dropping them inside and careful to not leave any footprints either, Nyx sitting on his spear handle like a witch with the wind lifting it, and Isaac walking on air evading the guards near the entrance as they entered deeper, finally setting them down.

"I thought ya were improving yer bow skills not magic?" Nyx questioned, no longer whispering as he knew there were no guards near. Even now he was still lifting Theia up with air magic, using it for nearly a half hour without any signs of exhaustion.

Glancing at him, Isaac raised a brow. "Surely you don't think I'm so weak? I'm pretty sure only that one wouldn't be able to do it." He said in reference to Penelope, still proud of herself for barely being able to use wind magic.

Nodding in understanding, Nyx proceeded to walk around towards a tree, observing the terrain. "They likely have the monsters locked up til a few more days." He hummed, taking note of where the beasts could be hiding, and where the best places to go would be.

Acknowledging his comment, Isaac joined him in observing. If there were not beasts here now, it was a little beneficial, it would be difficult to avoid killing them when the time comes, but he had a bit of trust that with Theia, there would be no need to worry about such a thing.

It was amazing the girl could still sleep as they traversed the area, putting in the simple philosophy. The beasts will always go to the best spot unless docile or forced away by a stronger one. Neither had ever been to the hunt before, but they knew the Duke did, and they had a plan. If Isaac couldn't steal from the Duke, he could steal from someone else if things came down to it.

They didn't need to find the area now, but they did need to keep the terrain in mind. Would it be faster on horses, or to just ditch them eventually at a certain point and go by feet. There'd also be no magic, and would it be smarter to use a certain arrow type or another? They'd also need to analyze the horses they had prepared later, just to be sure. All these factors made the difference at the end of the day, no matter how small they were.

As the sun continued to rise, they gave themselves another hour to search around and mark things down before anyone would notice they were gone for the night.

Thank you for reading! <33 hope you enjoy!
