"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.

"In the past—let's call it the past—every time we told you this truth, we tried to explain, but you always laughed. You never believed us and always fought with me, even when I showed you evidence," he said, frustration creeping into his voice.

"I told you I saw illusions and dreams," I replied. "That's why it's easier for me to believe now. I've been experiencing things that feel more real."
