The man before her seemed to give Eve an overwhelming sense of mystery, and this feeling seemed to be growing stronger. He and the Mage named Lome certainly did not fit the description of fresh-faced novices that Grace had mentioned. Although both men were about her own age, the poise and confidence exuded by the man before her were not something a newcomer could exhibit.
Regardless of the man's identity, Eve was certain of one thing: it appeared he had no ill intentions—especially his united front against the Assassins, which touched Eve deeply. If he had any ulterior motives, they had likely already been accomplished. They just needed to let their guard down slightly, and it seemed that none of her companions would have survived that battle.
