On the wedding day

Ch-20

Adira waited for her newlywed husband in his chambers. She was confused about his behavior. They were alright a few days ago. He was flirting with her, giving her gifts, and smiling at her.

Then what happened suddenly after that day's breakfast was an eye opener or shocking thing for her. He acted violently towards her. He was threatening her, warning her, and scaring her. This didn't happen before. Then why now?

She doesn't know what's wrong with him. One thing was sure she was scared of him.

She fidgeted with her fingers as she waited for him patiently. They were supposed to have a meal together before they attended the dinner banquet. During the dinner banquet, they would be occupied with toasting others, talking with them, and accompanying them. They won't have time to eat. So, they were provided with food earlier in the banquet.

Since it's a banquet the couple wouldn't be given some alone time. And this first meal would give them some alone time to them.

Adira wondered if he would be mean or normal. She wished he would be later. Holding her heartbeat in her chest, she waited anxiously for him. But she still was scared of her husband. She called Liena and decided to have a chat with her instead of being alone and scaring herself with her thoughts.

[What do you think, Leina?] Adira asked her wolf as she felt scared about her husband.

[I feel you are overthinking. He is a king, he will have many things to deal with. And not to mention he was away from his kingdom. You are just scaring yourself.] Leina brushed it off saying these words.

[But… his behavior from the past few days was scary too…] Adira trailed off as she reminded her wolf about the way he behaved with her.

[Maybe they were pre-wedding jitters.] Leina said.

[That sounds like an excuse.] Adira pointed.

[Why is it an excuse? Didn't you have pre-wedding jitters?] Leina pointed.

[When?!] Adira asked.

She didn't have any pre-wedding jitters! Hmph!

Her wolf was accusing her!

[Really?] Leina asked with a raised brow. Adira nodded her head hell-bent on proving that she didn't have any pre-wedding jitters.

[Then why did you think of getting your etiquette training from your mother-in-law rather than from our mother? Then why did you want to know the preferences of your husband? Then why did you feel nervous about your look all these days?]

[ Why did you go to the doctor to give you potions and recipes to make your skin fairer? Why did you apply so many pastes to your body to make your complexion better? Why were you worried about Zaros thoughts on your looks?]

[ Also… you hired a historian to teach you the history of Vampira. You vehemently made him cross-check your knowledge again and again. He felt like you were torturing him for no reason!]

[Why were you so worried about not knowing these things? Was it not impress your husband the people in Vampira? And don't you dare deny the fact that these weren't part of your pre-wedding jitters!] Leina snarled at her.

Adira felt speechless at her wolf. She doesn't dare to deny her but what she said was true. She put a lot of effort into this marriage. Unlike Lenora, it was hard for her. Lenora had a very strict upbringing than her. She was taught about Werewolfia even before she arrived at Werewolfia. So, she had it easy after the wedding date was confirmed.

Adira had to put much more effort into learning things than Lenora about Vampira and her husband. Lenora was smarter and older than her while Adira was only twenty years old with no exposure to the world. Which made it harder for her.

[You don't need to feel ashamed of it. You are putting effort into your marriage and for your husband's sake. It's something to be felt proud of. Don't think too much about it. Now… be prepared for what is to come ahead. What if instead of having food, he wants to have you? As your wolf, I am ready for it. As my host are you ready for it?] Leina pointed out as she brought back Adira from her self-thoughts.

Adira was jerked out of her thoughts the moment she heard her wolf's thoughts. Her mouth twitched at her perverted nature. She can't blame her wolf, after all, even in the corner of her heart she wished to be touched by her mate too.

Her cheeks reddened at the thought of Zaros touching her, kissing her, and making love with her. For some reason, she started feeling hot. She can't deny the fact that she anticipated these things from her mate.

Every time they come together, she has this attraction toward him. She was curious about his action. She wasn't expecting them to go all the way right now… but maybe a kiss…. She just blushed again. They kissed a few times. Every time he kissed her, he gave her a better experience than the previous. She was glad that he didn't treat her like a kid like her family does. If he treated her like a kid, then he wouldn't kiss her.

Thinking about him made her nervous. After talking with Leina, she felt better and realized she was just overthinking. Maybe everything would be alright now since the marriage is done.

Just then, she heard some footsteps entering the chambers. They were maids, they brought the food and served the table in the chambers and closed them with lids for them to eat whenever they wanted.

After they were done, they left. Yet her husband wasn't there. She started feeling bad now. She was very hungry yet she waited for him. Now her hunger died out just like that.

She started questioning her thoughts and the excuses she gave herself.

She even wondered if he has the same attraction towards her that she feels towards him.
