"Do you know how much I love you, Celine?" Dominic asked, cupping her cheeks. She paused, staring into his blue eyes, he indeed looked attractive.
She was starting to have sweaty palms again. For the umpteenth time, why does she feel this way?
She shoved his hand aside. "I don't need you to love me."
"Hmm that hurts." Dominic muttered, rubbing his chest.
The chants from the festival celebration caught Celine's attention again and she looked at Dominic with a pout.
"I really want to go." She said, pointing outside.
"Alright, Franklin. Stop the car." Dominic ordered and Celine clapped excitedly.
"Yay!"
Dominic grinned as he thought. 'Why is she acting like a kid? So cute.' He ruffled her hair childishly. "Happy now?"
"Gosh, you've ruined my hairstyle." She hit him on the shoulder.
"We can go to a beauty salon to fix that."
"Nope, let's go to the festival." She arranged her hair and stepped down.
Franklin peeped through the window after Dominic also alighted. "Sir, can I tag along?"
Dominic clicked his tongue. "Don't be silly, Franklin."
"Don't worry we'll get you some chocolates." Celine told him.
"Really? Thanks ma'am."
"Please call me Celine, I'm not married." Celine mentioned with an awkward smile.
Dominic took her hand and showed her the ring on her shoulder.
"You're putting on an engagement ring and yet you claim to be unmarried?"
"I didn't consent to it. Did I?"
"Let's not start now. Come here." He pulled her along.
"Don't forget the chocolates!" Franklin shouted after them and Celine nodded at him.
She halted when she saw the banner at the entrance of the festival camp. "It's a festival for couples. Let's leave. I didn't take note of that earlier."
She turned around to leave but Dominic stopped her. "Aren't we a couple? We can't turn back now." He told her. "Hey look! The trade fair!" Dominic pointed at a crowded section and Celine's eyes lit up immediately.
She ran towards the place with a smile while Dominic stood at a spot, admiring her cute giggles.
"Aren't you coming along?" Celine turned back to ask.
"Of course, I will." He said and joined her.
"For the ones you love, for the perfect match for you, buy your flowers! Lovely flowers with heavenly scent!" A man advertised his goods.
"Beautiful accessories for your woman, come get yours!" Another man said.
Dominic walked to the man selling the flowers and picked a rose one. "How much for this?" He asked.
"Two dollars, Mister." The man replied and Dominic paid before leaving for the accessories trader too.
His eyes scanned through the necklaces and shining bracelets which was neatly arranged on a flat board.
He didn't know which one Celine would like but he picked a dazzling silver necklace and a matching bracelet too.
"This is for you, my love." He mentioned, giving the rose flower to her with a gentleman bow.
"Thanks but I'm not your love." She said and inhaled the scent of the flower. "Mmm, it's lovely."
"And this….." Dominic wore the necklace around her neck and the bracelet on her left wrist. Celine gave him a big smile, it fitted her perfectly and she liked it.
Dominic tucked his hands in his pockets with the usual smirk on his face. He has never done this for any lady and he was surprised that she liked what he had chosen.
"I choose the right thing for whom I love and that's you, Celine."
"Will you just stop repeating this? I'm tired of hearing it." She rolled her eyes at him and when she looked away she sighted a chocolate trader.
"Let's get some chocolates." She said, tapping Dominic on the shoulder.
He nodded and went with her. "How much for two chocolates, sir?"
"Three, you forgot your assistant." She reminded him.
Dominic nodded with an awkward smile and ordered three chocolates instead. She was being nice to Franklin and harsh on him. Well, who would be nice to the man who made a fool out of her?
"Let's take some pictures, babe." Dominic mentioned, bringing out his phone.
Celine looked around. "Who is your babe?"
"It's you, Celine. You're my love, my baby, my everything." Dominic pecked her on the lips and without notice, he took a picture of them.
"Hey! Delete that now!"
"No, I won't." Dominic said, running away while Celine ran after him.
"Come back here!" She kept on running and they both found themselves in another section of the festival camp.
"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" The announcer said loudly. "Pick a card and whoever picks the one with an ace will come forward and kiss his partner but if you pick the one with a spade, you have to dance with your partner." The man explained further.
"I'll try." Dominic told the man and Celine tried to stop him.
"Hey, don't! Let's go somewhere else."
He shook his head. "No, I'm dying for a kiss." He said and picked a card.
The man checked it and it was the one with a spade. Dominic was disappointed, he turned around to face Celine who looked at him with a smirk.
"What now? What's with that face." She asked, placing her hands on her waist. "Now, you'll have to dance alone."
"Seems you didn't hear the instructions well, ma'am." The man told her.
"Uh?"
"You have to dance together." He reminded her. "Wait patiently, you're the tenth on the list and it'll be your turn in the next fifteen minutes."
Celine tried to run away but Dominic took a grip of her wrist. "Where do you think you're going?"
"I'm pressed. I have to visit the restroom." She said, rubbing her stomach.
"I know it's just a lie, Celine. You don't wanna dance with me, no?"
"Did I mention that? I have to go the restroom. Ow, I'm almost wetting myself." She faked tears.
"Alright, follow me. Let's find the restroom but we have to come back before we're being called on."
"Alright, alright. Just take me there."
After some minutes of searching for a restroom, they finally found one.
"Look, there's one there." Celine pointed with a toothy smile.
"Why are you so excited about going to a restroom? Are you sure you're really pressed?" Dominic asked, squinting his brows.
"Keep asking questions, I'll go in now." She rushed into the restroom.
"I'll keep waiting." He shouted enough for her to hear.
"Sorry but you're gonna wait forever." Celine muttered, smiling to herself.
"Hey, aren't you done?" He asked impatiently. "It's almost our turn to dance."
"Get me some toiletries, please!" She screamed from inside.
"Uh? Check well, there should be some in there."
"I'm not blind, get me some now. Do you really want us to dance together?" She yelled and laughed inwardly.
"Oh, I'll get them now." Dominic told her and ran to a nearby grocery store.
After Celine was sure that he had left, she walked out and ran away. Unfortunately, Dominic saw her and began to run after her.
"Celine, wait! Where are you going?" He screamed.
"Go dance alone!" She yelled back and giggled to herself as she ran into the woods.
Dominic pursued after her and he halted when he got to a path. He gasped when he saw a notice board beside the path. 'Beware! Deadly Wolves ahead!'
There were wolves? And Celine had gone there! He went looking for her and kept screaming her name.
Celine on the other hand, halted when she got to a spot. The whole place was filled with darkness and she couldn't see ahead of her.
She made to turn back when she heard a loud roar. Then She gasped when she saw two huge black wolves, charging towards her.
Scared, she tried to run away when she dashed her foot against a stone and fell.
"Hah!" She screamed when the two wolves moved closer and one tugged at her skirt.
