Edmund was infuriated as he left the house.
Mateo was playing games with him and he did not have the time.
"Brother where are you going ?", Elijah asked him.
"To go and see Mateo so he can tell me what his problem is ", Edmund said without turning back and leaving the manor.
"Don't get in any fist fight ", said Elijah but Edmund was far gone he could not hear him.
Edmund did not like being disrespectful and Mateo was doing the same thing without thinking about how it would affect him.
Why would Mateo think it was okay to drive his people out of the shelter?
"Mateo ", he shouted his name as he reached his residence.
Mateo appeared a few seconds later like he had been waiting for Edmund to come. The smug smile made Edmund mad.
"What is wrong with you?", asked Edmund as he walked towards where Mateo was standing.
"What do you mean what is wrong with me I haven't fallen sick or anything ?", asked Mateo smirking.
"I am not here to play games with you. That shelter does not belong to you. It belongs to the community and the vampires took residence their first ", he said as he scratched the back of his head pacing around.
"Yeah it's for the community, not you guys and I think my people would appreciate it", said Mateo.
It had to be the biggest joke that Edmund had ever heard. They were not in pre-school trying to see who was more powerful than the others.
"Let me refresh your memory because it seems like you have forgotten ", said Edmund chuckling.
"I can kill your people because it seems like you have forgotten that. I do not fear any of you people. I have tried to play nice here but it doesn't seem like you notice it", said Edmund chuckling.
"You invaded our home by going to the shelter and driving my people out. I can do what I want because if we look at it, you attacked first. So if you want to save their lives tell your people to get out of there before this turns into a massacre", said Edmund.
Edmund did not even want Mateo to say anything back. He was tired of playing by the rules and if Mateo wanted to see how many people he would kill he would gladly give him a performance.
Mateo grunted as he kicked the things that were close to him. He could never corner Edmund if he wanted to.
He thought that Edmund's first reaction was to act without coming to talk to him but he still had morals.
"We need to go get those people out of there before they are all dead ", he said to Arnoldo.
"Are you just going to give up ?", Arnoldo asked him.
Mateo scoffed and looked at him. From the way he talked, it seemed like he did not fully comprehend what Edmund had said.
"Did you hear what he said?", he asked him.
"Yeah but I don't think he meant it, he was bluffing ", said Arnoldo laughing.
Mateo was shocked by the way Arnoldo thought so little of Edmunds's words. Edmund did not play.
"No Edmund does not bluff. If he says he will do something then trust me he will. He is not scared of killing our people to protect his, so in case you want a lot of families' death to be on your hands I suggest we get moving ", Mateo said as he picked up the jacket that was on the chair beside him and left.
An hour was enough for them to vacate. He did not want to seem inconsiderate but they were trying his patience.
Mateo could not have been that stupid to pull a stunt like that. Edmund would kill them all in a heartbeat.
As Elijah sat in his study room he wondered if the way his brother managed things was the right way to handle them. He was rushed in making his decisions and he thought that maybe someday it wouldn't work out the way that he wanted.
So far what he was doing was working. He was just like his brother but not as fierce as him. He thought that Edmund was scared sometimes.
Elijah did not care if people were getting hurt. If he was disrespected he would act accordingly.
His brother was scared of embracing the monster in him. It's like he did not want to show that part of him because he thought that he would have become what people said he would.
He stood up from his chair and left the study. The witches had disrespected them and the time for acting nice was over.
"Where are you going ?", asked Edmund.
"To tell those witches to get out of the shelter ", he said as he left.
Edmund went after him wondering what had gotten into his brother.
."I have never seen you act like this before. I thought an hour would be enough for them to leave", said Edmund.
"They did not give our propel that hour to leave, why should we play nice ?", Elijah asked him.
They knocked down the door and everyone turned to look at them. They did not look like they were leaving.
"I want you guys out of here this minute ", said Elijah.
They started murmuring and no one moved and he wondered if they had not heard what he has said.
"I said to get moving or else blood will be spilled. This is not your place of residence so if I kill any of you technically it won't be a problem so how about we make this easier and not spill blood ", said Elijah.
"Mateo said that it was okay to stay here we are not leaving until he says so ", said one bald man, and Elijah chuckled.
"It's so admirable the way you think Mateo rules this place, if I say you leave I mean it. Let's hope Mateo will be here to save you ", said Elijah and within a second he was beside the man.
"Don't for a second think that I won't kill you ", said Elijah as his hands snaked around the man's throat.
