The Vampire's Curse

She was not the woman of his dreams. She was rather the woman who came and turned his life upside down. Did love even exist? Why did she have to forgive him for things he did? He did not do them because he loved her. He did them because he wanted them all to herself. He didn't want to lose her and did what would benefit him. He never thought about others so why would she think about him. She was only meant to save herself. She was not some Messiah who came to deliver the world. As she looked at him all she felt was disgust. She didn't think that she loved him anymore. She didn't have a soul. He had destroyed it. His eyes raked over her body and he could not contain the lust that he felt towards her. His pupils turned dark as she ran her hands over his chest. He wanted to grab her by the throat and kiss her. Hold her under the moon and tell her how much he had been miserable since she had left but he knew that was not what she wanted to hear. The moon accentuated her curves and all he wanted was to run his hand all over her body. He knew it was not going to last. He had not seen her for over a decade and now she was back. He has thought that he did not feel anything for her but every time he looked at her he felt alive again. He wanted to let her go but couldn't and did not know why. It's like she was a drug that was in his system that he couldn't wash away. If he could go back in time he would have never met her. If he would have never met her a lot of things would have never happened. He was not her knight in shining armor the same way she was not the woman for his heart. She was the woman who made his life a living hell and he still did not understand why she still brought him to his knees every time.

APOLOGY

The rest of the breakfast was quiet as my brothers busied themselves with their things.

Sometimes I felt like I would just wake up pack my things and leave. For once so that I could be free from them. I was free but yet again to some extent I was not.

Every time I made up my mind to leave something always happened. They always ran into trouble. Well, Edmund ran into trouble.

He always stirred something up and we had to go save him. It's not like I had a choice in the matter. If anyone asked me then maybe I would have preferred that he would have been put to slumber for a few centuries so we could know what peace felt like.

For centuries we had chased him around trying to make sure that he was okay. He never understood the meaning of family.

Yes, I may have loved them but they were just a pain in the ass.

I never understood why Elijah always tried to be the hero and save Edmund every single time. Why would you save someone who did not have remorse?

Edmund thought that everything that he did was right. That all his plans were the perfect ones but in all the cases they just involved killing everyone to solve the problem.

So being the little good sister that I was I had to follow Elijah everywhere that he went to make sure that he was safe. Not from other people but Edmund.

I often thought that if it was possible to kill us Edmund would have done that a long time ago. He loved power more than he loved any of us.

He would do anything to make sure that he was on top even if it meant getting rid of us. The people who were on his side explained how much I despised him.

On top of being a narcissist, he also thought that no one wished him to be good. Everyone was out to get him which was a lie.

They were just conspiracies that he had made up in his head to make himself feel better. No one would conspire against him.

Why would you conspire against someone who would get his way in the end?

He had done bad things to us in the past. Things that could not be forgiven but somehow Elijah found it in him to forgive him.

Even after Edmund had killed the love of his life he still went to save him every time he caused a stir somewhere.

The reason he had given was that she had disrespected him and she had to be taught a lesson. When you look back at it maybe he was just trying to teach Elijah a lesson.

In his defense, Elijah had fallen in love with a witch and he hadn't thought it was serious that was why he had killed her.

Not to paint a horrible picture of my lovely brother, Elijah still forgave him for that even if Edmund did not ask for forgiveness.

His reason was that our brother was not an easy person to deal with. That he would learn slowly about human emotions but not burst the bubble or anything I did not see that happening in any lifetime.

He was who he was and nothing was going to change that. A person who didn't have a heart could not feel and I always wondered when Elijah would realize that and stop dragging me around in his quest to make my brother have a little humanity in him.

On many occasions, I had imagined what it would feel like if my brother would have just vanished from the face of the earth.

We were not able to be killed but that did not mean that someone wouldn't make us suffer. The key was hidden somewhere in the manor and I dreaded the day that my brother would find it.

God knows he would use it every time he felt like he had been disrespected by one of us. I may have not liked him but I did not want to stop his heart with the golden dagger.

A dagger that would put him in a slumber where he would never notice that time was going. Where he was between life and death and only we would know about it.

A lot of people would have appreciated it, it goes without saying he was a nuisance to many.

"Edmund can I ask you a question ?", I asked him and he lifted his eyes from the book that he was reading.

"Yes sister dearest what is it ", he said smiling.

"I thought we were not supposed to mix with witches you know fall in love with them or have sex ?", I asked him.

He looked at Elijah and smirked.

"I know what you are trying to do, this is not the same with Elijah ", he said.

"How is it not the same ?", Elijah asked him.

"Am just having sex with Alicia am not in love with her like our brother was, what was her name again?", he asked Elijah.

"Katherine, her name was Katherine, and please I need to understand one thing you were not the one she betrayed it was me, then why were you so offended ?"Elijah asked him and I kept glancing between the two of them.

I had asked the question to stir up a conversation that I forgot that they never talked about it.

"Brother how in love were you with that girl if you were too blind to see it?"Edmund asked him chuckling.

"She was not in love with you, she was with you because she was trying to figure out a way to try and kill us. ", said Edmund.

"Pray tell, why did she want to kill us again? ", Elijah asked him.

"To revenge her mother's death ", said Edmund.

"Should I add that you killed her because you were mad and were having one of those psychotic episodes of yours where you think everyone is against you ", said Elijah.

"It doesn't matter why I killed her, I need to get a thank you for saving you guys from that little witch of yours ", said Edmund like it was nothing.

Like after all the horrible things he had made us go through with the enemies he made himself someone still owed him an apology.

"You owe us an apology for all the things you have made us go through trying to make sure you don't get in trouble. And she was my problem not everything revolves around you, I was the one who was supposed to kill her not you ", said Elijah.

"No one asked you guys to follow me everywhere I went. I handle my things quite perfectly, you can leave now if it makes you happy ", said Edmund as he went back to reading.

Quite a wonderful way to start the day if you ask me.
