The Vampire's Curse

She was not the woman of his dreams. She was rather the woman who came and turned his life upside down. Did love even exist? Why did she have to forgive him for things he did? He did not do them because he loved her. He did them because he wanted them all to herself. He didn't want to lose her and did what would benefit him. He never thought about others so why would she think about him. She was only meant to save herself. She was not some Messiah who came to deliver the world. As she looked at him all she felt was disgust. She didn't think that she loved him anymore. She didn't have a soul. He had destroyed it. His eyes raked over her body and he could not contain the lust that he felt towards her. His pupils turned dark as she ran her hands over his chest. He wanted to grab her by the throat and kiss her. Hold her under the moon and tell her how much he had been miserable since she had left but he knew that was not what she wanted to hear. The moon accentuated her curves and all he wanted was to run his hand all over her body. He knew it was not going to last. He had not seen her for over a decade and now she was back. He has thought that he did not feel anything for her but every time he looked at her he felt alive again. He wanted to let her go but couldn't and did not know why. It's like she was a drug that was in his system that he couldn't wash away. If he could go back in time he would have never met her. If he would have never met her a lot of things would have never happened. He was not her knight in shining armor the same way she was not the woman for his heart. She was the woman who made his life a living hell and he still did not understand why she still brought him to his knees every time.

AMELIA ||

Things had not changed so much since Amelia had last been home. The same annoying brother if he was still acting like he ran the family and Ophelia was still alive.

She hated that woman with everything in her but there was nothing that she could do. She often wondered where her father had gotten her from.

If he had wanted to remarry so many women were of the same class as them who had been widowed.

They knew nothing about Ophelia or if she even had any family. If she had then she did not like them a lot because eye never talked about them.

What she was grateful about was that she had sired any children with their father and that was the best gift that she would ever give them.

Everyone in the house feared the woman the same way Amelia did. She knew what she was capable of and she did not want to have problems with her.

Just one bite from her would give her discomfort that lasted for hours and she had experienced it once she did not want a repetition.

Somehow their father did not believe them when they told him all the things that Ophelia had done to them when they were kids.

Instead of punishing them like other kids when they did something wrong she thought the best punishment was to bite them.

Of course, he would t believe them she was his angel. A woman who would never hurt a soul.

What Amelia never u understood was how she never had any family because if she did they were still alive somewhere.

She hat tried to bring up the subject a lot of times but Ophelia changed the subject real quick which made her suspect her even more bit the woman was clever there was no way you would catch her in a lie.

One time Amelia tried to look like the hero of the family and tried to ask Ophelia why every time the subject of the family was brought up her father spoke instead of her.

"Her family died that's why she doesn't like talking about it so can you please stop pushing it ", he had said and everyone had been quiet.

She dared never to ask of it again even though she knew that was a lie. She never asked of it and left it alone because no matter what she did she hold just get into more trouble.

"Darling "someone said behind her and she could recognize the voice anywhere.

Amelia turned around d with a sweet smile mastered on her face even though all she wanted was to growl because Ophelia was not someone she was pleased to see.

"Hey mother ", she said as she hugged Ophelia.

"How are you sweetheart ", said Ophelia as she kissed her cheeks.

"Am fine how about you ?", asked Amelia as she pulled away from the hug.

"Am a little passed that you didn't send news that you were coming home we would have prepared a feast for you ", said Ophelia.

"There was no need for that mother ", said Amelia.

"Well okay does your father know that you are here?", Ophelia asked her.

"Not yet I was looking for him and I can't seem to find where he is ", said Ophelia.

"That is because he is in the garden with me, come on I'll take you to him", said Ophelia as she took Amelia's hand and led her to the garden.

Amelia's father turned the moment he hear footsteps coming his way and wondered how Ophelia had come back so quickly since she had said she was going to take a shower.

His face lit up when he saw who was with Ophelia.

"Sweetheart ", he said as she stood up to greet his daughter.

"Hey Dad ", said Amelia as she hugged her father.

He has not aged a bit since she had last seen him. It seemed like life was not that bad to him.

"I'll leave you two to catch up I need to go shower I need my beauty sleep ", said Ophelia as she touched her face.

It was flawless like that of a small kid, her beauty rest was doing wonders to her.

"Okay ", said Amelia as she sat down next to her father.

"Miss can I offer you tea ?", the maid who was sitting ding next to her father asked her.

"Yes please and those famous biscuits of Mrs. Lorna if she still makes, they please ", said Amelia.

"Yes, she still makes them let me go and bring them ", said the maid as she excuses herself.

"How have you been dear?", Mr. Arlington asked his daughter.

He could not express how much he had hoped that his daughter would come back. Night after night, day after day until months passed with no sign of her.

It had been the longest time since she had disappeared without a trace. They had searched far and wide with no sign of her until he had given up and just let it go.

"Am fine dad how about you ?", Amelia asked her father as the maid came back and served them tea.

"Am doing fine but it looked like you are trying to kill me ", said Mr. Arlington.

"Why would I try to kill you father ?", Amelia asked her father confused why the old man would think like that.

" You just can't leave without telling anyone where you're going do you know how much I was stressed? I sent people to look for you all over and all of them came with the same answer that they had not seen you ", Mr. Arlington scolded Amelia.

"Am sorry I was on a ship and I sent letters but I guess they never reached here ", Amelia said.

She was lying, she had not sent any letters. She knew if she ever sent any her vacation would be cut short as her father would send servants to track her down and bring her back home.

"Okay, did you have fun?", he asked her and they spent the rest of the afternoon talking about the states that she had visited and all the things that she had learned from the people there.
