The Dynamic Duo

Westley sighed.

"Everything has been really hard lately Noelle. Finding a job hasn't really been easy for me. No one would want to employ me knowing that I and my mother have some underlying connections with the former king of Sunria. They all didn't want any trouble, fearing King Axel's wrath, and of course that of his royal Seer Daphne Giovanni," Westley stated sadly.

Hearing this devastated Noelle. Her eyes became downed as she promptly stared to the wooden floor. She felt sad now knowing what Westley and Madam Danielle had to go through because of having some connections with her decease family.

'That bastard king!' she said inwards frustratedly.

Eventually glancing upwards at Westley's facials, "I… I'm really sorry to hear that Westley," Noelle's enticing voice said. "I have no idea my family's death would affect you and Madam Danielle that much. Seems you guys even suffered than I did. I'm really very sorry."

Waving it off with a fragile smile, "Nevermind about it Noelle. Your family treated me and my mother as one of their own when they were all still alive. You don't need to apologize Noelle, especially to someone like me who stole from you. I should be the one apologizing instead."

"Don't worry. I've already forgiven you Westley," Noelle assured. Creating a bright smile on those seductive lips of hers. "The past is in the past now, okay?"

Nodding slightly, "Okay," he said.

"And please Noelle. Don't mention any of these to my mother. I don't want her to find out that all the coins I use to bring to her were stolen from someone else. Can you do that for me, please?"

"Of course I can. I won't mention a thing to her. But still… Westley you can't keep stealing forever. It's a bad idea. You will eventually suffer the consequences if you continue. Besides, no evils in this world goes unpunished. So you have to stop. What if you get caught uh? It would only endanger you even more," Noelle reprimanded.

"I know, I know. Keep your voice down. Someone else might hear you from outside," Westley remarked. Afraid that with how unprincipled this little sister of his talks, then she might get them busted eventually.

Noelle who didn't feel as though she was shouting could only frown triflingly, and kept her mouth shut.

"I wasn't even that loud," Noelle muttered under her breaths.

Westley continued, "I know that it is wrong of me to steal. I'll quit it soon, I assure you. I just really need some more coins so that I would be able to establish a new business for myself. And that way I wouldn't have to steal again."

Putting aside her grudges, "Oh… what sort of business do you have in mind then?" she asked curiously.

"A fishing business," Westley replied. "That's the best I could come up with for now at least."

"It's not a bad idea," Noelle supported. And after that, she sighed tiredly with a sad looking face. As though something was bothering her deeply, and this didn't go unnoticed by Westley's keen intellect.

Leading him to ask, "Noelle tell me. What's wrong? Why do you look so saddened all of a sudden?"

Deciding to be honest with Westley, was Noelle's alluring voice, "It's just that the favor I wanted to ask you about, you wouldn't be able to do it for me."

Westley furrowed his eyebrows.

"How do you know I wouldn't be able to do it? At least let me hear it first. As long as you're not going to ask me for a huge amount of coins. Then I'm sure I'll be able to assist you," Westley said, giving this beautiful little sister of his an assuring, and curt nod.

"I wanted you to assist me with looking for a job. But hearing what you just said. I don't think that would be possible anymore," she said.

"Oh… so that's what you're sad about," the brown-haired young man finally realized. A little confused, "Noelle are you planning to stay here for long?"

"No…" Noelle said, as though she wasn't finished with her sentence.

And hearing Noelle say this confused Westley even more. Thinking that why would Noelle want to find a job here when she isn't going to stay with them for long.

"Do you live nearby then?" Westley asked.

"Westley you didn't let me finish. I'm not planning to stay here for long, but instead I'm going to be living here with you and Madam Danielle from now on."

"Oh…" presently realizing that he had misconceited the beautiful mermaid's words. Then a wholehearted smile manifested his flat lips. Nothing in this world could suit the feeling of having Noelle back with him. Years ago, Westley used to consider Noelle extremely annoying, but when he heard that she was no more. He wept for days. Not eating or drinking anything.

"I'm happy to hear that. We would eventually go back to old times," he said. "And by the way Noelle. I can help you with the job you wanted. Since no one is aware of you or your true identity. They had all thought you were dead already. So it would be easy for you to get a job, unlike me. I'll just instruct you on were to go and what to do."

"Okay…" Noelle nodded happily.

"But first tell me. What type of job are you searching for?"

"Okay I'll tell you. But promise me that you won't freak out when you hear it, okay?" Noelle cautioned as she watched Westley perform a slight nod at her words. Saying the two word;

"I promise," Probably wondering what Noelle wanted to say and also what she meant by him not freaking out about it.

Contrarily, Noelle hesitated to speak. She knew exactly what sort of job she wanted. It was something even her enemy would never advise her to attain. Something even she was extremely afraid of thinking about, talkless of saying it, but of course she had to.

"I… I want to become a maidservant at King Axel's castle," Noelle blurted reluctantly, and almost instantaneously Westley's eyes widened in horror.

Immediately, he got up from the chair, "Noelle what nonsense are you saying?! You must be kidding me right? Please tell me it's just a joke. It must be one of your silly messed up jokes, right Noelle?"

Noelle remained silent which further added to Westley's suspicions that it wasn't a joke. His brown eyeballs enlargened all the more. Obviously unpleased by what he just heard.

"No! I'm sorry Noelle. But I can't support you in that. I can't afford you risking your life like that. If your life isn't precious to you. You should at least know that it is to me and my mother. I can't support you!" Folding his arms together, with his attractive face looking disturbed.

Noelle knew that it was a bad idea. And a very bad one to be precised!

Notwithstanding, what other choices does she even have? Additionally, what better way to seek revenge upon her nemesis if she simply wasn't close with them enough to do so?

Noelle got up from the couch. Walking hastily towards Westley who was already on his feet, and furiously glaring at her. If only looks could kill!

Upon reaching him. Noelle placed both his hands on Westley's shoulders, pushing him gently back to the couch.

"Westley sit down first!" she said sweetly. Trying to calm the situation.

Westley sat down as instructed. And in that way, Noelle agilely returned back to her own seat. She also sat down.

"Relax Westley. Let me explain to—" Noelle couldn't finish her sentence the moment Westley interrupted her;

"Noelle I don't want to listen. Don't try to sweettalk me. You should know it wouldn't work. I wouldn't go back on my words for anything. You're like a sister to me. And it's my responsibility to protect you. I can't watch you make the wrong decision," he disagreed.

Rolling her eyes apagogically, "Says someone who steals for a living," Noelle murmured, but bold enough for Westley to hear.

"That's due to circumstances Noelle. And you know that already. But you… you can't go to his castle," Westley argued. "What if they find out it's you? They would lock you up instantly, and find a way to annihilate you without the knowledge of the public. Those people can be brutal sometimes."

"Relax. They won't find out it's me. They don't know me from anywhere, remember. Please Westley you have to promise me that you would agree. Please. Remember, for old times sake! Please."

Looking at Westley, Noelle could tell the young man wouldn't budge an inch. She sighed haggardly. Now realizing that she would have to resort to what she didn't want to do before.

"Fine! If you don't agree with me I'll tell Madam Danielle about how you occasionally steal people's properties just so you could bring it home to her. Then lie to her about it being your hard-earned money," Noelle resorted to blackmailing Westley which really made her felt bad, but she knew she had to.

"You…! You little brat! You're trying to blackmail me?" Westley bellowed.

And just when he said that. The both of them became attentive about the door that just creaked open. Causing them to meticulously fell silent. Beside they knew it was Madam Danielle that was coming in.

"You better agree with me now, or I'll tell her the moment she gets here," Noelle whispered.

Westley gritted his teeths harshly. It was an hard decision to make, as he didn't want his mother to be sad or cry due to him, neither does he want Noelle to make the wrong decision by agreeing with her.

But alas he had no choice.

"Fine! I'll help you," he whispered back apprehensively. This made Noelle grin in satisfaction.

Then the next moment Madam Danielle came in.
