Chapter 50

For the next two weeks Bella had stayed at her parents as her baby bump got bigger and everyone pampered her including Kyle, who came almost every day to visit her. Kyle even came over and helped her father with renovations on the nursery. The relationship between Kyle and her had grown significantly as they both headed into parenthood.

Kyle had even taught her how to shapeshift into a werewolf and the privileges attached to it. And so on most evenings they would shape-shift together and run a short distance into the forest surrounding her parents home.

When Alpha Czar had asked Bella to visit Castle Rock the day before the ceremony to get her expertise on the  final attack plan, Bella had researched the geographical surrounding area of Castle Rock extensively. And now that she was on her way driving to the Castle, her mind kept trying to think of the best strategies to utilize.

As she pulled off the road and into the private road leading to the vast open field. Several meters ahead, Bella saw a huge Stone Castle situated in the middle of the field. She then understood why Alpha Czar was so desirous of having the battle take place there. The location and position of the Castle ensured that they would have full coverage of the entire area and the upper hand.

As Bella turned right and headed directly for the Castle she could see that several of the ceremony tents surrounding the castle was decorated with shields and swords. This helped to calm her nerves a bit seeing that she knew that Kyle and his family was going up against trained soldiers carrying guns.

As soon as she arrived, Kyle stood waiting for her at her door like a bodyguard. Since he found out about the pregnancy and after her poisoning, Kyle had become overly protective. And although she enjoyed the attention after being independent for so long at the beginning, his behavior irritated her tremendously now.

Kyle you do know that I have supernatural powers and can take care of myself, right? Bella said as she opened the door.

Yes I know this and I also know that your powers are possibly stronger than mines but you're carrying my litter and I will behave like this until they are born! It's really not you who I'm protecting, Bella! Kyle teased as he lifted her off the driver's seat and placed her down.

Well that's good to know! How is the final preparations going? Oh wait I brought several pizzas for you guys incase anyone was hungry! Bella said after finishing kiss Kyle.

Kyle opened the back seat and took out the five boxes  and bag with sodas and stood beside her while Bella grabbed her bag. As they entered the stone Castle, Bella saw that the massive door had been changed from wood to steel.

Yes we made some of our own changes to the Castle to reinforce it with more updated material. Kyle said when he saw Bella's observing the door.

You know you guys surprise me sometimes! I mean I always consider your team to be amateurs but you've surprised me! Bella joked as she walked into the stone Castle and was awed by its beauty.

Awwh you say the nicest things to me babe! Kyle joked back as they walked to Charlie and Karl who was packing cannon balls into crates and handing it to other pack members who was taking it upstairs.

Bella it's nice to see you! Charlie said as she walked to hug her and rub her belly.

And you brought food too! You're definitely the best sister in law ever! Karl said as he grabbed the boxes out of Kyle's hand and began to eat a slice.

Well seeing that Kyle is your only brother and you don't have anymore sister in laws, I don't know how to accept that compliment! And to think that I even bought two iced coffee drinks for Charlie and you in the bag. Bella said

Bella you're so sweet, thank you. Charlie said as she immediately got the coffee out and began to gulp down the drink.

Where's Lizzy and James? Kyle asked

Lizzy and James are out on the fields setting trip wires for small explosion. The Alpha says the less soldiers that reaches the Castle the better for us! Karl answered as he continued eating

Smart man! Where is he by the way? Bella asked.

He's upstairs directing the members where to pack the crates of cannon balls! Karl replied just before he snatched Charlie's drink away and began drinking.

Charlie immediately taken by surprise of Karl's action became overly annoyed.

You serious Karl? There's one in the bag you know! Charlie snapped

What babe? I was choking! Karl said to Charlie who was clearly disgusted by his actions as he tried to kiss her.

Well I'll  go up and see him for a bit! Bella said and turned to walk away for the group.

Wait let me help you with that long stairway! Kyle said

Please keep him away from me! Bella said and slowly lifted off the ground and began flying up the stairway.

I keep forgetting she could do that! Kyle then said as he looked at Karl

Okayyyyy then! Seems someone is in denial about who is more powerful among you two! Karl said with raised eyebrows causing Charlie to laugh loudly.

You both are so dumb sometimes! Kyle said and continued began packing the balls into the crate.

Alpha Czar, I must commend you on this location. It's ideally suited for a battle! Bella said as she rested down slowly beside him.

Bella! You gave me a scare there, seeing that I'm a little nervous about tomorrow! The Alpha replied when Bella showed up beside him.

Ah yes Bella, the Castle! You may not know this, but several centuries ago my ancestors fought a battle right here. Story goes that a King with a half witch as a daughter owned this Castle. The daughter ended up with one of my ancestors named Cain and they fought a battle against Cain's father for the right to live peacefully with other supernatural creatures and had won. So I'm hoping to have the same success tomorrow as them! Czar continued

While I was doing some of the research about here earlier this week, I think I came upon that folklore but I'm glad to know now the story was true! Bella said

Yes it is indeed true! In fact Cain had a son with the half witch named Caleb and he mated a dragon who had two weregons. They even say that the entire family was buried on these grounds at each stone pillar you see in the distance on the fields. When I was younger and heard the story I came and checked the pillars and saw writings etched on the pillars but could not read what it said. Czar said

Well that's quite interesting, I may look into it further and let you know what I come up with before your battle tomorrow! Bella said as her investigative curiosity kicked in.

Yes, providing that we make it! Lizzy told me you'd be watching her pups with your parents and to be honest I felt so relieved after hearing that. Bella take care of them should anything go wrong okay. Don't let any of James family claim them as one thing I dislike the most is a 'bougie' werewolf. The Alpha said and laughed heartily at the joke.

Everything will work out tomorrow and you would be successful in your fight for freedom Alpha Czar. Every preparation you've taken like fortifying the Castle and preparing the cannons will undoubtedly bring you success. Bella said trying to reassure the Alpha.

Had I more time I would have dug a moat and filled it with coals like my ancestors. Maybe even have some catapults or trebuchet also with the cannons but it is what it is. The Alpha said

Bella was silent for a bit as she watched out in the distance to the pillars Czar pointed out earlier to her.

You know Alpha Czar I could never tell which is which! I recall one looking like this! Bella said and magically made several catapults appear.

Or this one! Bella continued and made several trebuchet appear on the towers.

Oh Bella, this can't be! The Alpha said as he ran up to one and began to inspect it.

But it is! Thank you so much Bella. You have given our family a better fighting chance! The Alpha cried as he gently hugged her.

Bella smiled and wiped the tears away from the Alpha's eyes,

I have one more surprise but I need to tell you that these supernatural gifts will disappear as soon as the  battle is over. Bella warned

That is wonderful because I wouldn't have any where to store them! Czar said and laughed.

Do you trust me Alpha? Bella then asked as she look at him intensely

You've never given me a reason not to Bella! I do! Alpha Czar answered

Then take my hand and come along with me Bella said and reached out her hand. The Alpha quickly took it and immediately they began to lift off the ground. The Alpha screamed and laughed in delight.

Look kids I'm flying! Take a picture or video to show your mom! Czar shouted to his family below as he and Bella floated through the tall castle and went through a window. The family was caught off guard since they were looking in awe at the catapults and trebuchet that Bella made appear.

Kyle, Karl,  Charlie, Lizzy and James immediately began running underneath them, as they followed them out of the Castle.
