Carl was wondering if he had become some kind of a computer expert since he changed information on a national database easily or maybe the security wasn't that strong, anyway the country needed to up their ITC security. Not that he did not know enough about computers, he thought it would really be difficult and would take a few hours to complete but it took him less time than he expected. Unknown to him that the only reason he could do that was because they were carrying out a system upgrade, he was able to sneak in and out without any problem. His thoughts were interrupted when the waiter served their food.
After picking up the cutlery, he began by handing out instructions, "Forget about your bank accounts and create new ones with your new details, preferably in another bank and then break your sim cards.. on second thought, your phones too. You'll need to look for a new place to live as well"
He stopped to continue eating his food. It was necessary else, they could be traced. They needed a complete make over. Even if they now had a new identity, they could not just continue living the way they did previously.
"That's right, before I forget, compile a list of every member of the gang with their basic information, it should contain their strengths and weaknesses, I want it delivered within the month." To completely take over the gang, he needed to know every little detail about the gang and the members.
Allan was listening to every instruction Carl was giving, meanwhile his brother was concentrating on the food, like his life depended on it. Carl took notice of his action but didn't point it out, he made a mental note to teach him a lesson. Allan who saw Carl's gaze on Allen immediately nudged him, however, it seemed he was prepared to die with the food. He couldn't blame him though, they were yet to eat anything. They were in a rush to pack up before the police came so how could they afford to eat?
"Ask the members to lay low for three months, there will be a meeting on the first day of September. Before that, I want you to put them to a test, to see if there are spies.." before Carl could conclude Allen interrupted him. He slammed his hand on the table, attracting the attention of other diners. "Spies?! What do you mean spies? We are all brothers, why would there be spies?" Allen was angered by Carl's instruction, he blurtted out without thinking. Allan on the other hand knew it was a possibility. He wanted to caution his brother, when he saw Carl's eyes, he decided otherwise.
Allan was the smarter brother, Allen on the other hand was brawny. Saying he lacked common sense wouldn't be an exaggeration. He was quite naive, though he had experienced the hardship of life. He was impulsive, always resulting to his fist without stopping to think. This had gotten him into a lot of problems, thankfully his brother was there to help him solve them.
Carl realized that he should make his authority known sooner else he would only bite himself. "If there are no spies, I'll give back the documents, you can take it like we never met, however, if I'm right, you'd have to swear your allegiance to me, you'll act in accordance with my instructions, no questions asked. However, this is the only chance I'll give to you, there'll be no next time. The consequences will be severe." He finished off.
Allen caught his eyes, he knew Carl was serious. He began doubting himself, 'maybe there are, but how could that be? We're all close..' while he was questioning the loyalty of his 'brothers', Carl put down his cutlery.
"I'll fix the problem with the businesses, as for the test, Allan you know what to do, do not tell them about my existence yet and if those caught by the police are trustworthy, get some of the others to bail them out, if possible."
Carl immediately stood up and handed an envelope containing the money to Allan. Then he gave a quick reminder, "Remember the timeframe to accomplish each task, I'll be in contact."
A few minutes after he left, the two brothers located a store to get new phones and sim cards as instructed by Carl. They immediately got the clothes and found their way to a bank.
...
Carl began working on the legalities of the companies, firstly, he registered them all under Glass Holdings. He was able to complete it under a week after which he called for the brothers and assigned them new duties.
They were to provide a comprehensive report of every company. And after which he would proceed to make amendments to the working arrangements and also hire a few persons.
It was the end of another stressful day, all he wanted to do was to go back home to Kim. Yes, home, she was becoming his home, whether he chose to admit it or not.
Readers,
You might be wondering why the story is centered around Carl when the main lead is Kim. I feel this part of the story is important for the development. Soon enough Kim would come to play. And in the not so distant future, I'll serve enough dog food to satisfy you all.
