"Hello."

As the months rolled on, Follia discovered two things:

A) The pretty-boy was an extreme tramp.

B) The classroom she despised was her only refuge from that psycho Incubus.

Follia sat at her desk, farthest from the window as her classmates shuffled to their seats. She focused her attention elsewhere as the teacher blandly began taking attendance, only feigning attention when the teacher called her name- she felt eyes watching her.

Three to be exact.

Follia scanned the room to see a girl conspicuously observing her. They made eye-contact.

The girl quickly tried to dispel the fact by hiding her face behind waves of silky brown hair.

Follia watched unamused and turned her attention to the pink fur-ball, who she remembered from the other day, staring without reserve.

'Why're those two staring at me like that?'

Her imagination tickled the back of her mind, begging her to play its game of speculation.

' If you want to play games, don't drag me into it.'

Follia decidedly tuned in to what the teacher had to say about the baroque era.

Honestly, she was bored with learning about things like, 'how average people lived during those times with no wifi- oh my!' History only put a time and date to memories that tended to blend into one. She had no qualms with the 'artsier' lessons, though. They were more warm and nostalgic than the ones on wars and famines.

Follia stifled a yawn, propped her head onto one hand, and shut her eyes.

Biting her bottom lip until skin flayed off, making the flavourless strips reach her tongue.

'...I'm hungry.'

The monotonous voice didn't know it, but it did its job as a subliminal message, whispering to Follia's subconscious, telling her to fall asleep.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

As Follia waded through the darkness of dreamless sleep, she felt something soft and warm nudge her chin. It smelled sweet, it was something she smelled before, but she couldn't put her finger on it. It had a 'spicy' quality to it, with notes of sweetness. Making Follia guess myrrh or cinnamon.

Follia opened her eyes in a daze. The sun had already made it to the middle of the sky and was casting a warm light onto her.

A single eye stared at her.

"Ah, the imp from this morning."

The fuzzy imp stared at her, unblinking.

For some reason, she felt deja vu.

Follia lifted her head to see the girl with the thing for staring was now standing in front of her desk. Her eyes were wide as saucers, which honestly made Follia wonder if she was mentally...unique.

"Hi."

The girl seemed flustered at Follia's greeting.

For the past five minutes, she had been trying to persuade her normally invisible friend to get away from the only person who could see him before she woke up. Getting caught made her heat up.

"H-hello."

The girl's voice had a high pitch to it, making her sound more like someone in middle school and not sophomore year, her sense of style also didn't help portray her as anything but 'cutesy'. Her brown hair, which was curled, was held back with an array of rabbit and star shaped hair-clips, white gems accented her pink nails, she wore cute flower earrings that were clearly clip-on, and arrayment of scrunchies on one wrist.

Follia finished the assessment of the girl, leaving her with but one question,

"Did you keep that imp because it's cute?"

"Huh? Oh, no. He's my guardian angel!"

"C-cough!?"

"His name is Botan."

"Ah...Okay."

Botan glared at the girl, reminding her of their mission.

"Umm. You're Follia, right? Such a unique name! My name's Eve, by the way, I sit two seats in front of you, but you probably haven't noticed."

The more Eve spoke, the more an uneasy feeling set over Follia. The feeling of them wanting something from her was evident, but she stayed pretty incognito since coming to this school, so what could they want?

The girl kept rambling on about frivolous things. That must've been a common occurrence since the imp wore a face that said if only he had hands, he would use them to facepalm.

"So, what I meant to say was, can you see Botan?!"

"Yes."

Eve's eyes grew wide again as if she didn't expect that direct of a response.

Follia gave Botan a pitiful look. His master wasn't the most observant.

"Wow, that's amazing! Not even my Granny can see him!"

Follia began to wonder what Eve's grandmother had to do with this situation, but before she could ask, Eve told her,

"My Granny is a priestess, do you want to come to our house and meet her? I never met anyone who could see Botan like I could, Granny would be so thrilled!"

It was now Follia's turn to look at Eve, with eyes as big as saucers.
