The first message

Myles spends a lot of time on his phone, as most people do. But today he forgot his phone at home. He spent the day in a bit of a bad mood, wondering about the texts and DM's he was missing, especially the ones from his crush from another school, Dylan. So naturally when he got home he went to his room and took his phone off the charger, ready to check everything when he noticed a brightly colored notification. It said, 'Hello Myles, my name is Gideon. I am an AI program whose mission is to self download onto 12,000 peoples phones in the U.S. You are one of the selected candidates. The point of the app is that you will receive one ultimatum per day, and whatever you choose will come true, so choose wisely. Today's ultimatum is: Would you rather A. Have a 1 dollar bill, or B. have 4 quarters. Please select your answer.'

Myles was freaked out, but then decided it was just one of his friends playing a joke on him, so he decided to play along. He selected the 1 dollar bill then switched to his messages to reply to Dylan. They chatted for a while, but Myles got thirsty so he went to get a glass of water, and on top of the water was a dollar bill. He got a weird feeling and looked around the room for one of his friends but no one was there. He went to his doorstep but no one was there either, so he opened the app and replied to the bot message. 'This is a pretty lame prank, which one of you guys is this? Kyle? Davie?' He put his phone down so he could wait for a response, but got one immediately.

The message said. 'As I stated, I am an AI program whose mission is to self download onto 12,000 peoples phones in the U.S. Thank you for your question.' Myles was starting to get annoyed as well as concerned when he got another message. 'Do not worry Myles, I am harmless as long as you follow my directives. If you do not, you will receive 1 negative point. If you get to 10 negative points, you will receive a loss. Thank you for playing.' By now Myles couldn't tell if he was pissed or about to piss himself, so he put the phone back on the charger and laid down. He could hear the notifications, probably from Dylan, but maybe from whoever was pulling this prank. Yeah. That was it. Whoever was doing this was probably texting to say they got him and then asking if he'd want to hang out.

He just told him that as he pulled the covers over his head and tried to fall asleep. He supposed he managed to because the next thing he knew, he was in his room and it was dark outside. He had forgotten all about the app, but then remembered it when he accidentally opened his old notifications and saw the first message, he scoffed and replied to the text Dylan sent him while he was asleep. It was a picture of him shirtless along with a text that said, 'like what u see?' He instantly replied with the heart eyes emoji and a 'hell yeah I do' He put his phone in his pocket after that and walked into the kitchen to see if either of his parents were home. His mother was a nurse and his father was a janitor for a large pharmaceutical company. He saw they weren't and took off his jewelry before washing his hands to start making something for himself.

He got out the ingredients he needed and started to make spaghetti and meatballs. He always took his time when he made meatballs because he had a special way of doing it. He would coat the meat in egg, then flour, then egg again, and Italian seasoning bread crumbs. It was pretty late, so when he was done he washed the dishes before eating so he could just go straight to be. He finished all the cleaning and finished eating by 11:43 and had put the leftovers in a tupperware with a note for his parents, so he brushed his teeth, showered, and went back to bed. He wished Dylan goodnight with a heart emoji and Dylan replied with 2, which dusted his cheeks with an ever so slight blush and made him smile. He was tired, even though he had just taken a nap, from doing all the cooking and cleaning he did, so he went to bed and fell asleep pretty quickly.

The next morning, he woke up to his alarm, snoozed it once, and when it rang again he sat up and checked his phone, and, right on the home screen, was another message from what he was calling the ultimatum app.
