Mind Games I
The gurgling, hacking sound that the man produced has only made Seraphine tighten her hold.
She had never used a garrote before - heck, she had not even held any other kind of weapon. The rods felt clumsy and foreign in her hands, the wire too long. He slapped and grappled at the wire and at her thighs with desperate hands, careening forward as if he could run away from the assault.
But then, he only ended up stumbling backward again.
"Y-You bitch!"
At that moment, he was thrown into panic. He dove toward the wall to try and get Seraphine off of his shoulders, but she steered him away with the garrote-reins, inching her grip higher on the filament and foregoing the rods in favor of better leverage.
Finally, senseless with pain and clearly losing focus, the man practically fell backward onto the top of the bar in a last-ditch effort to knock her from him. Even then, her grip never faltered. If anything, the position aided her and sealed his fate.
