1.7 Haven Academy

Early the next morning...

I was in the garden doing my workout routine.

"...96, 97, 98, 99... 100." After completing 100 push ups, I turn over and start doing sit ups. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5..." As I was doing these, Changying came running towards me with her maid following in tow. Xueyan also came with her.

"...15, 16, Good morning. 18, 19, 20..." I greeted while I was doing my situps.

"Good Morning. Me and Changying want to come here early so we can get to know you better. We only got to see you for an hour at dinner yesterday. Is it okay if we ask you somethings?"

"...33, 34, Sure, go ahead. 37, 38, 39..."

"Okay, my first question is, What is your goal in coming here?" Xueyan usually is good at reading people and is usually able to tell if someone has a good or bad personality. But the moment she saw me, she couldn't get a read on me at all. She couldn't help but be suspicious of me. Thus, she felt the only way to confirm, was to directly confront me.

"Xueyan! What are you saying? Why are you being like this?" Changying was very mad at her older sister for acting like this.

Before they start an argument, I hurriedly stop Changying from escalating it further and cool her off. I turn to her and say "Changying, thats enough." Then I turn to Xueyan and say, "I do have a goal for coming here. But, I won't be able to do it in a short amount of time."

Xueyan pushes for an answer. "Would you mind telling us what your goal is?"

"...60, 61,62. My goal is to build up my strength and then to travel to the other continents. I want to see what this world has in store for me. 71, 72, 73..." I say after thinking about an answer. In my past life, I never got to travel outside of my country before the undead took over. It was always one of my regrets. Now that I have a new lease on life, I plan to fulfill my dreams here.

My answer stunned the pair of sisters. They never thought that I would have such a far reaching goal. Their goals are very small compared to mine. As Xueyan and Changying were thing about what I said, a cold voice destroyed the atmosphere. "You have some great ambitions. Do you think that you can accomplish them?" Long Fei walked on in like he owned the place. He was wearing a black robe today. It made him look a little more menacing but that's about it.

"... 83, 84, 85. I don't see why not. 89. There is no one that can stop me from do what I want. Not even the heavens. 96, 97, 98, 99... 100"

I get up and and ask them. "When are we leaving?" Long Fei says, "In 1 hour." After that, I went back to my room to pickout my clothes

After picking a black and red hanfu, I took a bath and came out feeling energized. Realizing that it was almost time, I went to the palace gates and met up with my cousins.

"Looks like you are ready. Let's get on and not keep the waiting." After saying this Long Fei boards the carriage and we follow after him. After we all get on, we head to the Youth Sparring Arena.

After about 30 minutes of riding in a carriage, we arrived.

I stepped down thinking that I just escaped an unnatural kind of hell. The carriage would rock and shake like I was experiencing an earthquake. I wanted to throwup but my pride didn't allow me to. I held it in and felt liberated when I walked out.

After we all walked out, we walked inside and ordered a private room. Long Fei told the attendant the surname of the families that will be guests in the room. After that, we walked into a large private room. There were 14 seats around a large table. In the middle of the table was a plate of candies and a tea pot that I would assume has tea inside of it. There was also wine and ale on the table. It seemed like it would get pretty lively inside this room.

While I was observing the room, my cousins sat down and looked at me. Feeling their gazes on me, I awkwardly say "Sorry. Its just that I've never been inside of a private room before. I was just observing it." I say this and take a seat beside Changying. After I took a seat, the door opened and a group of people flooded inside. "Hope you haven't been waiting for too long." The first person who came in to the room was a fairly handsome youth. His eyes were deep like the depths of an ocean. He seemed to be a very shrewd character. While I was analyzing him, he was also analyzing me. "Well, you didn't tell me that there was someone new coming today." this youth said. Although he was able to hide it from everyone else, he couldn't hide it from me. He was quite nervous. Probably because I was looking at him from head to toe.

Everyone else was also looking at me curiously.

"I didn't know I was bringing her till yesterday. Cousin, go ahead and introduce yourself." Long Fei said to me.

I nodded and look towards the people that have just entered the room. "It's nice to meet all of you. My name in Feng Li Ren."

When I told them my name, It was like a bomb had just dropped. All of the whispers coming from them ceased.

Isn't that the name of the famous waste from the Feng Family?

Why would she be here?

"Aren't you the was-" The youth that asked who I was was about to ask another question when his world turned upside down and the next thing he knew was that he was on his back.

The surrounding people were stunned. When did she get over here? Even my cousin's were shocked. They never thought I would be this fast.

Is this really the Feng Li Ren that they have heard about?

I took out a handkerchief and used it to wipe my hands. Then I threw it on the young man that I had thrown on the ground.

"Wash it and give back the next time you see me." I said coldly. Then I turned to the crowd and said, "There is such thing as a waste. There are only people who try and people who don't. Even when I was blinded, even when my dantian was sealed, didn't I still come out alive? How could someone who has gone through that be considered a waste?" I glared a the man viciously and he felt like he was transported onto the south pole.

After that, I straightened out my clothes and sat back down.

After a little bit, someone broke the silence.

"Hahahaha, It seems that I have been narrow minded my entire life. How could someone who has been through all of that be considered a waste. No, this should be someone we admire. Thank you for teaching me something valuable today. I will apologize for my friend here. He has always been to straightforward. I hope you don't mind. My name is Liu Yan and the idiot on the floor is Gu Lin.

I look at him and think 'Maybe we could all get along'. "Don't worry about it Young Master Liu. That was just a warning for the other straightforward people that could be here." I laughed it off. Something like this won't bother me. I just decided it was better to show him rather than keep it bottled in.

Young Master Liu also laughed but he was inwardly cursing his cousin to hell. He offended a great buddha today and as someone who treasured their life, Young Master Liu wouldn't go down with him.

Young Master Gu got up and straightened his clothes as much as he could but it didn't help. He looked at me then rubbed the back of his neck and said, "I'm sorry about that. Sometimes, I just whatever without even thinking, please forgive me." While saying this he bowed his head. With this act, my opinion of him did a complete 180 and I thought better of him now.

"You don't have to do this. Just take care to better control yourself in the future." I say this feeling slightly embarrassed for slightly overreacting to what he said.

"You should join the academy tomorrow. The holiday break is ending and they will be recruiting new talents. I also want to see you fight someone. With how easily you came over and threw him down, you should be at the peak of the Qi Refinement Realm, right?"

I nod and say, "Sure, spending all day indoors would get boring fast."

After that every one introduced themselves. There were 6 girls and 6 boys in the group that just came in.

Starting with the ladies, the eldest one's name is Di Chen Han. She is known as the #1 Female Martial Arts Practitioner to the rest of the capital but to this group, she is just "Big Sis". She is the oldest out out of the group at 20 years old. She is obsessed with fighting and getting stronger. Her goal is to be the best young martial arts practitioner in the continent.

The second lady's name is Chen Nuo. She is a very skill physician for someone who is only 19 years old. She is on par with some of the old monsters in the imperial palace that have been studying medical science for their whole lives. Maybe I can teach her how to stitch wounds. Maybe I also teach her how to stitch tendons..

The other 4 ladies are sisters. Their names are Bai Yueliang, Bai Ling, Bai Yueli and Bai Jie. They all practice martial arts as a hobby. Their real passions are in business. Their family owns the most of the jewelry shops in the empire.

Other than Liu Yan and Gu Lin, there were 4 more boys here. Their names are Ling Xiao, Tang Yao, Chu Feng, and Qin Long.

All of them go to the academy inside the capital called Heaven Academy.

Heaven Academy is known to all of the continents as the best institution for gifted martial artists and cultivators. Every year, gifted martial artists and cultivators from all over the world rush to the academy to participate in the test to see if they are capable enough to be enrolled into the academy.

The academy only has a 15% passing rate so most people go home feeling bitter.

While they were telling me about Heaven Academy, a commotion was happening outside of their room.
