Awakening

It was a beautiful day outside, the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and there was not a single cloud in sight. Today was also the most important day in 16 year old Matthews life.

Today was the day that they would be awakening their corresponding mana stone in outer space. In this world mages reigned supreme and in order to become a mage one had to reign in

the power of mana.

However there was no mana on their planet because there was a barrier seperating them from the mana, this was due to the fact that mana in too much amounts for non mages or mages of lower rank was devasting and could lead to the death of them. So instead mages had to awaken a corresponding asteroid/stone in space that would be their conduit to gather mana from outer space. Then as one advanced the levels they could upgrade their coressponding stone in outer space to store and gather more mana that they could use. There were also 4 different

types of elemental mana out there so when one awakened their mana stone it would be color of the corresponding element. It was well known that the fire element was the best while the wind

element was the worst. However a mages strength was what mattered most. Mages were divided into 4 stages. Apprentice mage when they had formed their mana stone, Official Mage when they hadpurified their mana once and formed a mana gem, Grand Mage when they had formed a mana core, and finally Supreme Mage when they had formed a mana planet. In fact when one was a supreme Mage their mana planet could even house living beings that could give the Supreme Mage much more power. This was why the Supreme Mage was much stronger than any other Mage. They could use much more power and draw on more energy resevoirs to cast spells. It was the dream of every young mage to become a Supreme Mage as a Supreme Mage was regarded as the most powerful beings on earth and could do anything they wanted.

Full of anticipation Matthew stepped out of his house and nervously began walking towards the awakening building that would allow them to awaken their element and find their corresponding mana stone. However while he was walking on the road his vision was suddenly covered and a sweet voice behind him giggled and said, "Guess who?""I don't know must be some beautiful girl." replied Matthew in a teasing manner, "Hmmph, you never get a joke" said the young girl while looking accusingly towards Matthew. This girl was Sophie, Max's childhood friend for 10 years. She was a decent looking cute girl who everyone loved. Sophie had one day been brought back to the town by a few guards who had found her lying half dead outside the city perimeters while on duty. They couldn't find her parents so she was adopted by the family next door to Max. Because Max was an orphan and lived with his relatives he and Sophie quickly hit off and became friends.

Then just before today a few months ago Max had confessed to Sophie and she had agreed so know they were in a relationship.

Then together Max and Sophie walked up the street and towards the awakening building. Inside they found 30 young teenagers with a similiar age to them, they too were also here to awaken their mana stone. "Alright," suddenly a voice boomed inside the building it was the Town Lord," Today you all will be awakening your mana stone, so listen closely so that you can awaken yours sucessfully, although the chance is low sometimes people can fail to awaken there mana stone! So be warned." Everyone all became alert and listened with attention as they heard about the possibility of not even awakening a mana stone. "When you try and awaken your mana stone you have to put your hand on the crystal ball over there," said the Town Lord, everybody then looked towards the center of the room where there was a crystal ball, "Then you must allow your consciousness to drift far far away and try find a mana stone that resonates with you, then move your consciousness into that stone to form a connection. Got it?" "Yes sir." shouted everyone in determination. "Alright then I'll start, Noah Owens." A short skinny young man stepped forward and put his hand on the ball, he then closed his eyes and stood still. Everyone looked in anticipation as he stood there until finally the crystal ball started to light up, one spark two sparks, boom, the crystal ball lit up and was of a bright saphhire color. "Excellent, I see you have awakened a water type mana stone, and also have great talent" said the Town Lord approvingly,"Alright next..." Then the Town Lord began calling people up. Each person got one of the 4 elements and were all excited, however some had brighter colors indicating better talent while some had faint colors indicating bad talent.

After a long while it was finally Matthew's turn. He stepped up nervously while Sophie gave him an encouraging look. He slowly walked up towards the crystal ball and put his hand on it. Then suddenly he felt as if the world had began to move beneath him and closed his eyes in dizziness. Then when he had opened it again, he gasped in shock. He was now in a dark space however all around him were millions of dots of light that seemed to illuminate the entire place, while close to him there were beautiful stars assumed the shapes of glowing stones. After searching around he suddenly felt a resonance with one of the stars that had an intense what color???
