Alex replied to the woman on the phone, "I'm out at the moment, but I'll be back shortly. Sure, you can come over."
With a grin lingering on his face, Alex headed to the bar at the gala, ordering a couple more drinks. The lively atmosphere and the clinking of glasses served as a distraction from the intense mission awaiting him. As he sipped his drink, he couldn't shake the anticipation of what the night held, both in terms of danger and the unexpected encounters at the extravagant event.
Ever since the incident with the truck Kun, Alex had noticed a subtle shift within himself. The adrenaline-pumping escape seemed to inject a newfound confidence into his veins. Perhaps it was the realization that he could handle unexpected situations, or maybe it was the thrill of narrowly evading danger.
Whatever the catalyst, it had an undeniable impact on his demeanor.
Now, as he stood at the gala's bar ordering drinks with a grin playing on his lips, there was a noticeable assurance in his actions. The once reserved and cautious Alex seemed to have found a surge of self-assuredness. The recent escapades, coupled with the surreal nature of the gala, added to this transformation.
Interacting with people, especially the mysterious woman he met earlier, didn't feel as daunting. Alex navigated the conversations with a newfound charm, blending into the sophisticated crowd with an ease that surprised even him.
Alex finished up the drink and drove back to his hotel. The room was nice. He smiled at the extra furniture to play on if his lover were there. Thinking this, he felt sad again. He took off his coat and grabbed a glass.
He wanted to relax so he poured himself a shot of whiskey. He sat down in a comfortable chair, drinking while thinking about all that had happened overnight.
Alex was just finishing his drink when a knock at the door startled him.
He opened the door, and there stood the waitress from earlier.
She was smiling at him wearing a long black coat. She had her brown hair a little curly tonight. He remembered that she had told him that it was not originally brown but was not ready to "go gray" yet.
He would not have known. He thought she was a beautiful, sexy woman since the first sight of her. They were within a year of each other for age as he found out during the conversation earlier that day.
"Are you going to invite me in?" Sara asked. Alex had frozen. He was so surprised and honestly overexcited. Since they met, she had been really keeping his libido revved up.
Alex spotted a ring on her finger and then he remembered she mentioned being married. Sara had been married for most of her adulthood and for not having had wild college days or even much dating.
There was so much he learnt about her from the little conversation they had while he was at the hotel's restaurant in the afternoon.
She sure knew her way around a man. He could see she had on her black patent leather pumps with some sheer stockings showing beneath the coat. Alex instantly became erect. He was anticipating what was underneath the long coat.
"Come on in," Alex gestured, a mix of surprise and excitement on his face. Sara entered, and the atmosphere in the hotel room shifted from anticipation to a more intimate ambiance.
They settled on the bed, and as the conversation flowed, Alex found himself genuinely interested in Sara's life. The topic of hobbies arose, and when she mentioned her past in photography, Alex couldn't help but express his surprise.
"You don't strike me as the photographer type," he remarked, intrigued by the layers unfolding in Sara's story.
With a sly smile, she confessed, "Well, before I took up this waitress gig, I was a model."
Alex's eyebrows raised in genuine surprise. "A model? What kind of model?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued.
Sara, with a playful glint in her eyes, reached into her bag and pulled out a phone. Scrolling through the phone pages, she stopped at a section showcasing her as a lingerie model.
"These are from my modeling days. It seems like a lifetime ago," she remarked, handing the album to Alex.
He took it, flipping through the pages with a mix of surprise and admiration. "Wow, Sara. You really were a model," he commented, trying to conceal his amazement.
She chuckled, "Yep, that was me. I did a bit of everything – lingerie, fashion, you name it. It paid the bills, you know?"
Alex, with a mischievous grin, decided to playfully boast, "Well, I did date a model once, you know. She was all about runways and fashion shows. I'd even take pictures of her then. If you want, I could show you a few of my photography skills and maybe you show me your modeling skills?"
Sara raised an eyebrow, looking at him skeptically. "You are joking, right?" she questioned, not buying into his claim.
"What? You don't think I could bag a model?" Alex retorted, feigning offense and adopting a wounded expression.
Sara burst into laughter, "No, it's just... you know what? Let's quit all this talk. We both know why we are here, kiss me already," she declared, swinging her arms around Alex's neck.
