Doctor Brooke

'By the way, again, I am Cane Astro. It truly is my first time in the outside world.'

Cane honestly explained to the young man how he ended up in the forest in order to gain his trust. He told and stuck to his story about his uncle dying, which forced him to leave the bunker. Of course, he didn't say anything about being reincarnated or anything about his parents or the genes he possessed.

'I heard your father mentioned by the AI in your ear. He has to be a scientist who studies superhumans and Failures. But if you don't want to talk about it, I won't pry any further. But I think you need to enhance your AI so that you can communicate through your brain,' Kharlile said.

'It's all right. I'm not going to keep it a secret. In fact, I have no idea where my parents are. My late uncle was not a blood relative of mine. He discovered I was in a hibernation capsule. Now that he has died, I intend to locate my parents, whether they are dead or alive. That's why I want to get stronger so I can use the authority that comes with power,' Cane explained as his right eye began to heal and stopped bleeding.

They continued talking under the shade of a big tree. Kharlile was a truly good man, and he did not hesitate to share his plans, confirming his commitment to Cane. He stated that there was someone in the city who could help him modify and conceal his ears without affecting his abilities. After that, he'll be able to blend in with normal superhumans. He also stated that there were many superhumans like him, but because of their peculiarities, they were frequently bullied and killed.

Unexpectedly, Cane plopped down on the side and lost consciousness. Kharlile did not know what happened to his newfound friend.

Cane unexpectedly collapsed on the side and passed out. Kharlile had no idea what had happened to his new friend. He checked his vitals and discovered that the only thing out of the ordinary was the temperature. Superhumans should be able to withstand certain temperatures, but he noticed that Cane's situation was completely unthinkable. The temperature was so high that he had no idea what caused it.

'Hey AI. What's happening to him? What am I supposed to do?', Kharlile asked Liz.

'I don't know. This is the second time that he has become that way. It would be best to take him to a facility that can check the inner workings of his genes and have a doctor treat him. He was also like this when he first used his powers. It must be a backlash from the usage of his time element.', Liz replied.

Liz was aware that her master wished to avoid being examined by others, but as an existence created solely to aid in his survival, logic dictated that he be checked into an extensive facility.

Kharlile did not think too much and hurriedly put on a cap to hide his fox ears, then carried Cane on his shoulders.

'zizi' 'zizi'

When he carried Cane, hissing sounds sounded like he was being fried. Kharlile became perplexed because the usual backlash that superhumans experience is blanking out and being unable to use the power for an extended period of time, or, in the worst-case scenario, death. This was his first experience with a backlash involving abnormally high body temperatures.

As he ran toward the city, Kharlile heard a ring inside his head and tapped a button on his abdomen, saying, 'I've been calling you for 3 hours now. What were you up to? '

'I apologize, Kharlile. I had to assist yet another patient. She is from an academy, and I had no choice but to accommodate her or die. Where have you gone? Simply follow the instructions I've given you. Don't worry, it's a secret passage that will lead you to my back office,' said the woman's voice.

'I'm nearly there. And thank you for considering my request. But I have a friend who requires assistance. I'm not sure what happened to him, so make sure you're available this time. He could die as a result of over-drafting his genetic abilities or something else. His temperature is unusually high. I believe his suit will melt at any moment. I'm hanging up right now,' Kharlile said, tapping his abdomen to end the call.

'Mr. Kharlile, I discovered that your AI can assist me in upgrading. Can you allow me to do that? My master told me that as long as there is an opportunity, I can advance. I'll be more of a help to him as I upgrade.' Liz asked abruptly.

'You think you can do it? You must be a top-tier AI then. This is the first time I've heard of an AI being able to upgrade without requiring a hardware change. Sure. You can advance. I know you can't duplicate what my AI has in its system, but just tell me you can't so I can rest easy.', Kharlile said awkwardly to Liz.

Liz automatically responded, assuring her master's friend that she couldn't hack into other AI systems. Liz stated that she only upgraded using his AI framework.

He had finally reached the city. Kharlile ended up in a secluded alleyway after 20 minutes of walking and turning to make sure he wasn't being followed. The area was dark and narrow, but thanks to Kharlile's animal-like super-senses, he was able to find the door specified by the woman he called. He entered the password into the lock, and the door suddenly opened.

When they arrived at the back office, they were greeted by a very beautiful woman who was dressed in a white lab coat.

'You must be Kharlile. My name is Doctor Brooke. Please put your friend in this tub, or this place will burn in no time.', said the person who identified herself as Brooke, as she noticed that some parts of Cane's suit had already melted.

Kharlile was taken aback when he saw how young and beautiful the person he had spoken with previously was. Nonetheless, he did as instructed and placed Cane in the tub of water.

'zizi' 'zizi' When Cane was placed inside the tub, steam and smoke filled the room.

'Linda. Scan the patient completely and tell me what's wrong,' said Doctor Brooke to her AI.

Cane was still completely unaware of what was going on around him. His parents strongly advised him not to reveal any information about his body to others. But, because he was unconscious, he couldn't avoid being scanned. While he was being checked, Kharlile told Doctor Brooke everything he knew about him and how they met in an attempt to explain why he ended up the way he did.

'Detected two viral gene mutations, one on his right eye and another on his right hand. He is at level one of viral evolution. No other abnormalities except for his temperature.' The liquid in the tub turned green, and the AI named Linda reported it aloud.

Doctor Brooke and Kharlile were both staring at the information on the screen. He appeared to see no anomalies in Cane's viral genes, but her eyes shone with disbelief. Kharlile excused himself from the room and left to notify his clan of his safe arrival. Doctor Brooke, on the other hand, was preoccupied with Cane's body scan.

'What kind of genes does this person have? This is my first encounter with these types of genes. Is he one of the originals?'

But before she could think further, her eyes widened when she felt her neck was suddenly gripped by a strong hand.

She had no idea what had happened, but her patient had appeared out of nowhere in front of her by the time her neck was gripped. But knowing how did not matter anymore because her life would be taken in an instant if the person chose to clutch her neck into a pulp.

'What did you do to me? Who are you? Where am I?' Cane inquired, his eyes bloodshot.

But then Cane remembered what the God Sin of Lust had warned him about. Any physical contact with an opposite sex will trigger the sin of lust.

He ripped the lab gown that the lovely doctor was wearing all of a sudden. She was terrified and nearly sobbed when she noticed her bra and underwear were showing after what he had done. She moved quickly to counter Cane's strength, but he refused to budge.

Bad Cane!
