It always points out that he's good at games with a heavily cocky tone running through it. His flare for the dramatic on the verge of being too much rubs some people the wrong way, spawning animosity towards him while others embrace his confidence and skill level.

After capturing first place at a local tournament, our protagonist goes to a 'nerdy night' in this town thinking of himself as an actual god of the game will no one be able to stop him at his nerd-meetings. Getting there he gets greeted with joyous faces and smiles from people who remember him having fought his way to first place at a past event. A girl ends up butting into his life who starts making every round awkward after feeling out Tom and talking too much trash about how she has turned games upside down and then taking jabs at his.
