Chapter 5: Safe Travels

I woke up to the sound of screaming coming from Eliza's bedroom. I knocked on the door and the screaming stopped, Eliza opened the door. There was a woman in there who had blood running down her neck. Eliza wiped her mouth on a handkerchief and said, "Good, you're up. I was about to come wake you. There's another girl in the kitchen for you. Eat up and we'll be on our way!" I smiled shyly and went into the kitchen. I was still in my clothes from yesterday so I didn't even need to change. I brushed my hair with my fingers and looked ready to go. I grabbed the girl and figured she was already compelled so I just started feeding on her. I drank her blood until it was completely gone, not wasting a single drop! She fell to the ground... dead! I licked my lips and turned around to see Eliza standing behind me. She grabbed my arm and said I needed to change. I shrugged my shoulders because I knew I didn't really have a choice. Eliza dragged me into her bedroom and started throwing clothes at me. "Put those on and meet me outside in the car!" I smiled and watched her leave. I finished changing shortly after and took a look in the mirror before heading out the door. I was wearing a pair of black jeans with a dark purple baggy tank top. There was a black leather jacket and boots with it. Once I was done I walked outside and got into Eliza's car. We got to the airport and I had to mentally prepare myself for an entire trip to Seattle sitting next to Eliza. She's sweet and all, but very...pushy, I guess.

10 Hours Later-

A 10 hour flight with that girl is not easy I'll tell you that. It was about 6 PM when we finally got to Seattle. I took Eliza to the place where I buried Michael. We dug him up and pulled his coffin from the ground. "I want to open it to see how my brother is doing!" Eliza seems very attached to Michael, like since he was only their half brother or whatever that he was more special to her. I braced myself to see my best friends dead body. "Are you ready?" Eliza asked me. I answered, "Ready to see my dead best friend...sure, why not!" Eliza and I pushed open the lid of the coffin, revealing Michaels body. It was dusty and smelled like a rotten corpse. At lease vampires never like...rot when they die. You could see the black and blue veins lining his entire body. The suit I put him in before I layed him there looks in good condition, just dusty. A tear rained from my eye, along with Eliza. I leaned closer to her and said, "It'll be okay. Let's just get through this part and it'll all go by smoothly. Now tell me, how are we going to transport a coffin...with a body inside of it?" Eliza inhaled dramatically and said, "We can just take him, we're only going to Chicago. That's where Ollie is, so that's where we'll have to meet up!" I nodded my head and helped Eliza load the coffin into her car. We had to fold her seats down and strap the coffin in to be sure it was secure. Now time for a long ass drive...

Many Hours Later:

Eliza and I finally arrived in Chicago. She said that she got in contact with Oliver and that he'd get the rest of their siblings together and tomorrow night they'd have a reunion. The only two things that were left out was how I'll be there, and how we have Michael's body in the back of the car. We checked into a hotel for the night so we wouldn't have to sleep in the car, and after that we'll both be staying in a huge compound Oliver owns. I'm sort of excited to meet Eliza's family, if they're as nice as she is then there won't be any issues. We both compelled a bunch of security guards to watch Michaels body tonight, and in the morning too! Eliza and I got into our beds and drifted off to sleep for the next day...

The Next Morning:

"Wakey wakey sleepy head!"

I jumped up at the sound of Eliza's voice. She scared the shit out of me. We got dressed and decided to get some breakfast at a nearby restaurant. We ordered pancakes, and then we went into the back a fed upon our waitress. For the remaining of the day we shopped to get some new clothes while we're here, and then we ate lunch and spent the rest of the day in our hotel.

. . .

Finally, the moment I've been waiting for. Meeting the other Franklin's and then going back to my quiet life. I just hope this goes as planned...
