Chapter 3: Dear Diary

About 5 days ago I flew to Tokyo. I settled in at a nice hotel for the next week, then next week I'll be going to London. I have the entire next two months planned out. But for today I'm going to go shopping to find some cute Japanese clothes! It'll be so much fun... I think?

4 Hours Later-

I've already been to so many boutiques and shops. Everything here is so kiddish and cute. I mean, I like cute, but I'm more into the party dresses and leather jackets. But I still bought a few things. I got back to my hotel and wrote in my diary,

Dear diary,

It's almost my last day in Tokyo since I landed the other night. I decided to go shopping. I didn't want to think about how much I'm missing Seattle, much less missing California. I think I might go back and visit my family sometime soon. I just can't be sure if I can be around them anymore since, well...since I turned into a vampire. I'm just different than I used to be and I don't think I'd be able to tell them about it either. They just wouldn't understand. Hell, I didn't even understand anything until Michael taught me how to be a good vampire. If it wasn't for him I probably would've been some psychotic serial killer by now. I miss him everyday, now more than ever. On my flight here I was going through my pictures and found like a billion of both of us. I wish he was still alive, Michael was my best friend. The guy who helped me get through all my meltdowns and regrets. The one who showed me how to be good. My only regret now is that I wasn't there to save him. I could've too! I just had to drag him to that party where of course, vampire hunters were at! He sacrificed himself to save me. I just wish I could see him, or at least know if he found peace and isn't in Hell or something! Anyway, enough with the waterworks! Tomorrow I'm going to be sightseeing, and the day after I'm taking a spa day, and so forth. I love it here in Tokyo, but I can't wait to see London. I'm a big fan of history and art so my main priority will be the museums! I think that's all for now. I'll write again before I leave Tokyo and talk all about it!

Until next time...

Sincerely, Harper

Man, I'm exhausted. I definitely need some sleep, tomorrow will be busy!

The Next Day-

I woke up with a bit of a neck cramp, but otherwise feeling good. I straightened my shoulder-length hair. Then I got dressed in tennis shoes, ripped jeans, and a Rolling Stones t-shirt. I never really wear make-up so my morning routines are usually quick. I took the elevator downstairs and ate breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. After that I took a taxi and headed for a trail that leads to the woods. Once I got there and the taxi left I used my vampire speed to get to the top of a mountain. Only a few people go on this trail a day, it's also very dangerous so if someone just so happens to fall off it's normal. I figured it's a great way to spend my day, feeding on the people that come by and watch the sunset tonight. Did I mention that I have a daylight ring? Oh, well I do, apparently before Michael died he had a witch friend that made his so he got her to make me one. She was cool I guess, but I told myself I'd stay away from witches, I've seen what they can do and it isn't pretty! Anyway, I sat down on a rock and peered down at the forest hundreds of feet beneath me. In the distance I heard a group of people coming up soon, it sounded like 3 or 4. I waited for them to get closer and then I stood up and made myself look confused, I have the perfect plan!

"Uhm, excuse me? I got lost a little while ago, do you guys think you could help me find my way back?"

"Oh of course, just follow us we'll take you back right now."

I smiled and then said back,

"Actually, we won't be going anywhere."

"What are you talking about? Who are you?"

"Me? I'm Harper Young. I'm a vampire."

They all seemed scared which is reasonable, but I used a form of mind controlling called compulsion to make them stay.

"None if you will move or make a sound!"

I bit into the first ones neck and drained almost all of her blood. She was still alive though. So I cleaned her up and sent her on her way. Then the second one, I drained all of her blood, I was shocked though because I've never killed a human before. I didn't bother me much however because I saw Michael kill many people in his time. I tossed her aside and reached for the last one. She instead grabbed my hand and said, "Oh come on! You didn't even leave any for me. I was the one who brought them out here to kill them." I gasped in realization that she's also a vampire. She continued and said, "Oh geez. You don't even want to talk. I am an Original, you should at least be impressed!" I scrunched my face and asked, "What do you mean you're an Original?" She started laughing hysterically and threw the body off the mountain as she replied, "Oh, you must be a newby vampire! My name is Eliza Franklin. I'm one of the worlds first vampires ever. I helped create all the other vampires that exist to this day!" I raised my eyebrows and said, "One of?" She smiled and said, "There's me, my two brothers Zack and Oliver, and our half brother Michael, but sadly he died a few years back!" My face was as if I had just seen a ghost. Eliza continued, "What's going on? Why do you look like you know something?" I took a deep breath and asked, "Your brother Michael, he lived in Seattle, in the US, right? He also died there?" Eliza's face went blank as she answered, "Yes, did you know my brother?" I paused and then finally replied, "He was my best friend..."
