Alex stood in front of the full-length mirror, taking in her appearance. Her short auburn locks were curled, similar the time Maggie had given her that piece of crucial life advice: 'We should kiss the girls we wanna kiss.' She used to wear her hair straight but now... It was definitely not straight, much like her sexuality. Alex was in a beautiful flowing white wedding gown, holding a bouquet of freshly cut baby pink and white roses. She fiddled with the ribbon which held the flowers together and bit her lip nervously.
In less than an hour she would be marrying the love of her life.
So no, she was totally not nervous at all.
"Alex, you look beautiful," Kara beamed at her from behind, holding her own smaller bouquet which consisted of only white roses. Her sister was wearing a light blue dress which stopped at her mid-thigh with her hair tied up in a crown, her glasses perched on her face.
"Thank you," Alex whispered which she knew Kara could hear, "You too."
Kara responded with an even bigger grin than before — if that was even possible — and wrapped her arms around her sister, pulling the woman into a tight hug. "I can't believe you're getting married," Kara murmured softly into her ear, "I am so incredibly happy for you."
The two pulled apart and Alex found herself smiling at her sister's words. "Yeah well maybe you and Lena will be next," Alex said with a teasing smile which Kara simply gave a small smile to. They fell into an easy chatter as Alex let the make-up artist who had returned do some last minute touch-ups.
"Wow Alex, you look hot," Lena joked from the doorway earning a 'hey that's my sister!' from Kara. The blonde decided to pout until Lena sighed with an amused smile and walked over to her and placed a kiss on her frown before whispering something to her which Alex couldn't quite catch and Kara's face flushed bright red.
"Please don't whisper dirty things to my little sister right in front of me," Alex said with a slightly mortified frown.
Lena simply smirked and gently took Kara's hand, getting her to stand up. "We're going to get ready to walk down the aisle now," Lena said and headed towards the door with a red Kara.
"I'll see you in a bit, Alex." Kara shot her a smile before disappearing out of the door with the raven haired woman.
"Two of your bridesmaids are dating?" The man — whose name she had learned was Tyler — asked with a curious smile as he put down the brush, checking her again and deciding he was done with a nod of his head.
"Yeah, they've been together for almost a year now," Alex explained with a fond smile.
"That's cute, what about you and your fiancée slash soon-to-be-wife?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows and leant against the table, crossing his arms.
"Two years," Alex smiled, her head in the clouds as she told him how the two had met and how she had got her to be herself before they both fell in love.
"Alex, it's almost time," Her mother's voice cut through her thoughts as she stood up and turned around to face Eliza. Tyler excused himself and left the room to let them have some privacy. "My little girl, all grown up," Eliza tried not to cry as she looked at Alex in her dress with a smile on her face.
"Mom, don't cry please, otherwise I'll cry and I just got my make-up done," Alex laughed softly as she hugged her tightly.
"I love you Alex," Eliza said, voice thick with emotion.
"I love you too mom."
