REMINISCING (2)

The thing that happened was; Xiao Jun managed to disarmed Xiao Tianyao, force his little brother to let go of the sword that he was holding, however before Xiao Jun could laugh smugly, he caught a glimpse of Qianru, who was walking into the line of the flying sword and as if his body has his own thought, Xiao Jun had dashed toward Qianru before his mind functioned and warned her.

The next second, Xiao Jun managed to ward off the sword, but out of instinct he pushed Qianru away with intention to keep her save, however he forgot that behind the little girl was a pond.

Hence, Xiao Jun unintentionally had pushed her into it and Qianru ungraciously sat on the bottom of mud.

In her shock, she didn't realize what had happened to her. All she heard was the little Xiao Tianyao approached the two of them and with his aloofness scolded his big brother.

"Are you bullying her again? You can just ward off the sword, no need to push her." Xiao Tianyao said nonchalantly while looking at Qianru sympathetically.

"Nonsense!" Xiao Jun snapped. "I didn't mean that way."

Qianru was still sitting in the muddy pond, looking at the two brothers bickering back and forth, only when she heard a sound of a frog croaked she realized her own situation.

Qianru tilted her head to her left side and found a big frog was staring back at her with its throat bulging, the frog was in color black like the mud around her and was bigger than her palm.

"AAARRRGGGHHH!!!" Qianru let out a shrilled cried that instantly shut Xiao Jun and Xiao Tianyao who apparently had forgot about her.

Swiftly Xiao Jun come down to the pond and pick up the little girl in his arms, she curled her body and hugged Xiao Jun's neck tightly until he felt like the girl was about to strangle him.

The teen boy put down the crying Qianru on the clean place under the pine tree, but the mud that dripping from her body dirtied the place instead and her cried didn't cease down.

"It's alright… It's alright…" Xiao Jun coaxed Qianru to stop crying.

Fortunately the place that he chose to train was clear from the imperial guard, it was their secret place, not many guards would patrol around this area or else, his Imperial father would have known about this incident.

"You should stop bullying her Jun." Xiao Tianyao gave him advice that he didn't need while picking up Xiao Jun and his swords. "You always make her cry."

"Shut up!" Xiao Jun snapped at Xiao Tianyao agitatedly, but it only made Qianru cried louder. "Ssshh… Sssshhh… please… we will find clean clothes for you, alright?"

Xiao Jun remembered that this place was near with the washing area, they could ask temporary dress from there. At least Qianru wouldn't be too dirty when other people saw her.

"Come on, get on." Xiao Jun bent down in front of Qianru, his back was facing her. "We will get you clean clothes first. But don't tell anyone about this incident okay?"

"Are you threatening her now?" Xiao Tianyao sat on the grass while supporting his chin on his fist.

His commented earning a glare from Xiao Jun as he couldn't shout at him, he throw a small rock, but he evaded the lame attempt easily.

Qianru's cry ceased down into a sob when she crawled on Xiao Jun's back. It wasn't the first time for Xiao Jun to make her cry like this, thus she had gotten used to his coaxing words.

"What are you doing sitting there? I said we will go to the washing area." Xiao Jun turned around, frowning when he saw Xiao Tianyao didn't follow him.

"Why I should go too?" Regardless his complaint, he still stood up and patted his robe from the grass.

"This all happened because of you."

"It wasn't me who pushed her." Xiao Tianyao retorted.

The two siblings started to squabble again while Qianru, on Xiao Jun's back, looked at her messy hair and her beautiful dress that had ruined and dirty bitterly.
