"I will go with him." Ye Xiu said before he dashed out of the room to look after his younger brother.

Now, inside the underground shelter were only Xiao Tianyao and Qi Xunyi left with the dead body of the Emperor and the Empress of Xinghe along with the unconscious concubine Qi, Qi Xunyi mother.

"Don't you feel it's strange?" Xiao Tianyao broke the silence between them.

In an instant both of them grew more alert, Qi Xunyi unsheathed his sword and vigilantly walked toward Xiao Tianyao after he put his mother on the side of the wall.

It was quite suspicious with their current situation, the Emperor was here, but no guards were around. Qi Xunyi indeed put his own people to guard the underground shelter, but he didn't notice until Xiao Tianyao mentioned it that no one was around.

Both of them analysis their circumstances and assured there was no enemy in the vicinity.

After that, Xiao Tianyao walked away to get his scabbard that he had used to stop concubine Qi from stabbing herself.

Qi Xunyi also walked toward his mother and was about to pick her up when a dagger flung to his direction. Fortunately, he was quick enough to evade the worse result.

In the other hand, Xiao Tianyao who saw the direction of the dagger had moved forward to the corner of the room. Before he could reach his direction, another dagger flung toward him, but he easily evaded it.

After the shocking blow past, at the rear of the debris, a man in black clothes emerged. He was so tall, almost as tall as Xiao Tianyao with dull white hair that he tied on top of his head. He looked like a man in their 50, but in good built.

However, the flowing blood on his stomach showed to them that he wasn't in good condition. It would be good if he just stayed still and waiting for Xiao Tianyao and Qi Xunyi to leave the place, yet he revealed himself and tried to kill both of them. He determined to not let both of them leave this place alive.

"Modama…" Xiao Tianyao tried to call him out with the first name that flashed inside his mind.

"The descendant of Xiao…" Modama chortled viciously in heavy breath. He used his sword as his support. Even in unsteady state, the dangerous aura still emitted from his body.

Xiao Tianyao didn't have any scruple to talk more than that to the man who was the mastermind of his parent death. Thus, expressionlessly he dashed toward the wobble man and with killing intent he was about to pierce his eyes.

However, the moment he saw his eyes, an anguish feeling crept in his heart that made his movement unsteady. The more Xiao Tianyao got close to him, the more this uneasy feeling grew stronger.

"Don't come near him!" Behind him, Qi Xunyi voice broke Xiao Tianyao reverie as he stopped and jumped on the side, took a few meter away from the old man.

"He is a mind controller." Qi Xunyi reminded him.

Probably Modama hypnotized didn't work on Xiao Tianyao because he wasn't in his best condition otherwise Xiao Tianyao would definitely fell into his trap.

At the same time, when Xiao Tianyao and Qi Xunyi focused was on Modama, someone sneaked behind Qi Xunyi's back and stabbed him on his shoulder.

Qi Xunyi shrieked in anguish by the sudden pain and was forced to kneel. The man who launched an ambush attacked, pulled out his dagger, his movement result a tormented pain and exacerbated Qi Xunyi' wound.
