It was supposed to be an ordinary day. Me going to school,be late, sleep in class but still somehow get passing grades just like any 17 year old highschool student.
"Bye mom see you later!" I shouted to my mother.
"Be careful on your way to school" she replied.
On my way to school I helped an old lady cross the road after I made sure there was no vehicle (trucks) passing by. I watched enough anime to know they're the most dangerous of them all.
After I helped her I checked my watch and saw that it was 10 minutes before class. If I run for it I might make it in time. But I realized something I was to lazy to run and my most valid reason is that its monday. Monday is a late day.
So as I took it slow I appreciated how beautiful my surroundings is. Clean streets free of pollution, adults worrying about there jobs, birds chirping and people running away from gunshots. 'Gunshot?'I thought.
I should have paid more attention to where I was going. Cause if I did I would have noticed the ongoing fight. From what I could observed, the fight is between two opposite gangs, every member is either holding a gun or a knife. Knowing how dangerous it is to be here I tried to slowly walk away and pretend to never saw any of this. But of course somehow fate had to give me a 'screw you'.
One of the gang members notice me and thought that I was on the enemy's side, even though I was weapon less, and shot me three times in different parts of my stomach. It hurt. A lot. I couldn't even react.
After I was shot I fell on my back laying in my own pool of blood. I dont even know how to react. Should I scream in pain or in anger at my own luck and laziness or should I cry because I couldn't even say goodbye to my family and friends. I heard Police sirens nearing my location and the panick voices of the gang members.
My consciousness was fading the last thought I had was'I should have went with the truck'.
"Psssttt!"
'Huh?'
"Hey you!" yelled a disorted voice.
"Me?" I asked unsure of what to do in this situation. In my defence I never died before, this is my first time and hopefully the last.
"Yeah you!" replied the disorted voice.
"Do you want another chance to live? In a world filled with Gods and monsters? In this world you won't be powerless and will be born with great power. So do you want to accept? I don't have all day you know so make it quick." the disorted voice haughtily said.
But I didn't mind cause it said something that caught my utmost attention.
" Gods? Monsters? Power? " I said the last word a bit weirdly.
" Yeah yeah Gods, Monsters blah blah blah whatever. So yes or no? " the voice impatiently said.
"Can I have a wish?" I know its greedy and all but I just couldn't resist.
"Sure just make it quick" it quickly replied.
"Can I be born with Future sight?" 'If this world is filled with Gods and monsters might aswell try to even the playing field right? '
"Sure, but it will be nerfed to see the future of only 5 seconds to 10 seconds, though you could train it to see further with meditation or it may possibly evolve during battle. You will also sometimes dream of the far future but only rarely. You will ne able to turn this power on and off, so that everything wont be expected and not boring. Are you fine with that?" the distorted voice asked.
"Yes, I am." 'Are you kidding!? With that I'll never lose in gambling and it will also greatly help me in a fight maybe a few lottery here and there.'
"I am ready to be reborn." I confidently said.
"Okay. Get ready and goodluck. You're gonna need it" And with that everything went black.
