The Party PT. 2

Nate

I was about to tell her something, but there is no way I can ask her for her number just yet. Then I see good drama between Alice, Xavier, Zayne, and Mina inside the window. "Oh my god, Nate. Remember when I was playing on the playground in third grade, then I broke my arm?" Brooklyn's tugs on my arm. Didn't know the alcohol would kick in so fast. True story though, no one went on the pole for at least a month. Still, I laugh with her. She starts to walk towards thr drinks but I grab her hand so she doesn't become a mess. I kind of yank her towards me so I accidentally pull her in. She bumps into me and seems a little dizzy. I look around and take her out to the porch for some air.

Mina

"Mina, why did you reject me?", Zayne asks as he gives me this look. His breath reeked of alcohol as he spoke. He's drunk.

"Zayne, can we talk about this when you're sober?"

"NO Mina, give me a straight answer for once. What do you not like about me?", Zayne continues to ramble. "Why did you like Nate instead of me?"

I become distressed. I start to get confused as to why would he be asking me here and NOW. I begin to have a flashback from the moment Zayne asked me out. As his friends surrounded him giggling and recording on their phones, I immediately knew it was a set-up and they probably dared him to ask me out as a joke. Even if I did like him, I don't want to be humiliated when I find out he doesn't really like me.

"Because Zayne, I know you only did it as a joke. You were only asking me out as a dare. That's why if you REALLY wanted to know," I state as I push his chest. He wobbles a bit and gives me a confused expression.

"MINA, why would you think it's a joke?! I actually LIKED you!" He says. "Well what am I SUPPOSED to think?! Out of nowhere the cute popular guy at school asks me out?" I yell. "I'm leaving." I storm out of the room and leave.

Unbelievable.

Brooklyn

I feel tipsy but I'm glad Nate's here. The alcohol is wearing off a bit, more and more. We catch up a lot. He told me about his family being poor. "I should leave. I'm just going to walk home." I stroke my hair and smile. "Hey, my offer is still up." He says. "Sure." I say. Only cause I wanna stay with him longer. He gives me his helmet and jacket as we ride to my house. My heart rate is accelerating, because I'm going to either die, or I am wrapping my arms on Nate Miller's body. On the mirror I see his pretty Blue eyes and his brown hair. His hair is a lighter shade than mine. Mine is dark brown, close to black, and his is chocolate brown. My shade of eyes is just hazel.

We arrive at my house and I take off my helmet. "You can give that to me on Monday, I'm in a bit of a rush." He says, referring to the jacket. "Thanks." I smile. He pulls out of my driveway and leaves. I manage to sneak back into my house without anyone noticing I'm past the time I was supposed to go home. In the helmet, I hid a piece of paper with my number on it. And 15 minutes after he dropped me off, he calls me. We start to talk a lot more over the phone. Maybe there's more to him than just being a criminal and drug dealing.
