Over a thousand kilometers away, men and women ran in between altars and effigies. In one of the biggest architectures built for the church, there was no rest for faith. Everyday was a fight they had to win, a crown they could earn, a heart they could convince.
A creature covered in wax, over two meters high, was slowly walking next to its incubators. It racked a dagger against the ground and its echo resounded in the whole building amidst the panicked dashes.
It had a few holes around the head area, enough for it to breathe and hear at least. The slight transparency of the slowly dripping liquid allowed it to not stumble as it progressively advanced toward another monster.
Its voice was barely audible, the rough sound that exited its steel pipe made it sound like the clanks of a well-engineered machine more than real words.
