ch.9: Are you guys okay?

It seemed like someone was speaking but the only voices they could hear were their own.

"We have a problem!" one of them suddenly exclaimed after a few minutes of tense silence.

Everyone glanced at each other in confusion, wondering what he meant.

"What? How do you figure?" questioned one of them.

"We can hear him..." he said, pointing to the ceiling.

"What does he want?" Samuel said as he looked up curiously.

"He doesn't want anything," answered another angel quietly. "I don't know... He hasn't said a word."

"Maybe he needs help..." suggested another.

"Help? Like what?" asked another.

The angel didn't answer as he simply looked around worriedly.

"We should look for help." one of the guards suggested.

They began walking towards where they last heard the angel's voice come from.

After a few seconds of silence and walking, the angels started hearing something. At first, it sounded like footsteps. Footsteps that were following them. Footsteps from above. Footsteps coming directly towards them.

"Run! Run!" one of the angels cried frantically, leading everyone in the opposite direction.

Just as quickly as they had turned around, they found themselves faced with a group of armed angels and they ran away hastily in different directions. However, there weren't many angels that had managed to find a spot in Heaven. Most angels still resided in Hell or somewhere else where they could continue their existence. Those who had escaped Lucifer 's wrath were either dead or imprisoned somewhere else.

Some had made it back. Some hadn't. They ran and ran until they arrived somewhere where no humans would see them, and sat down in a small, isolated area hidden behind a rock formation. They leaned over, panting heavily as they tried to catch their breath.

"Are you alright?"

All of a sudden, one of them gasped. He slowly lifted his head from the ground to reveal a face he had hoped to see again, even though he didn't really care that she was actually alive this time. After a moment of hesitation, he smiled.

"Oh my god, Chloe…"

"Samuel!" she said excitedly as she stood up and walked towards him, her smile growing wider and bigger with every step she took. "You found me! Are you alright? Are you here Elitiah? Is he alright??"

She reached out and grabbed his hands excitedly, staring up at him hopefully. Samuel chuckled lightly at her antics, pulling his hand away gently before standing up himself to pull her into a tight hug. She wrapped her arms tightly around him, returning his embrace happily.

"Yes, I'm here. Elitiah is alright." he told her softly.

He pulled away a little bit, looking her straight in the eyes.

"Are you ok? Where have you been for the past five years? Are you free now?"

"Well… yeah, but that's kind of a long story." She sighed. "Let me guess... The demons caught you again. And they locked you up because you disobeyed… Right?"

"Yeah… pretty much." He nodded.

Chloe grimaced, looking guilty.

"I… I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you alone. I should have stayed with you. I should have protected you."

"Don't worry about it." Samuel assured her. "I'm fine. I've been doing just fine."

"Good." She smiled warmly. "Now, we can talk about something else… Like… What are you guys doing right now? Or are you hungry?

"Umm… Sure," Elitiah and Samuel nodded hesitantly. "
