Chapter 3

One night, as she was wandering the streets in a daze, she stumbled upon a small, dark alleyway that she had never noticed before. A faint light beckoned her from the end of the alley, and Lily felt a surge of excitement as she made her way towards it. As she got closer, she saw that the light was coming from a small door at the end of the alleyway.

Without hesitation, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was small and dimly lit, with a single candle flickering on a table in the center of the room. And there, sitting at the table, was Alexander.

"Lily," he said, rising from his seat. "I've been waiting for you."

Lily was taken aback. She had assumed that Alexander had disappeared from her life forever, and the sight of him sent a jolt of electricity through her body. "What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"I have something to show you," Alexander replied, motioning for her to take a seat at the table.

Lily sat down, her heart pounding in her chest. Alexander reached across the table and took her hand, gazing deeply into her eyes. "The secret of the midnight moon," he said softly, "is not something that can be found in books or ancient texts. It is something that can only be unlocked by the heart."

Lily felt a rush of emotion as Alexander's words sank in. She had been so consumed with her quest for knowledge that she had forgotten the most important thing of all - the power of love.
