Chapter 18

As she left the bedroom, the butler was waiting.

"Portio?"

"Ah my lady,Did you have a comfortable bath?"

"Yes, the maids treated me well."

"They haven't been hired for long, and they did well. If you tell them, they'll definitely like it."

"How long have they been here?"

"I hired them when I heard you were coming."

She nodded at the butler's words.

Portio took a step ahead and guided Rosaria . Thanks to the bath, lotion, and the massage, she felt much better unless it was a pain that cannot be wholly excluded.

"History of our mansion is not so deep, but it is a place that the previous duchess carefully decorated."

Portio's fingertips were directed toward the corridor, which was uniquely cylindrical, and the high ceiling made the corridor feel cool.

Even though it was monotonous, it did not spare beauty in places that showed splendor. The windows were delicately decorated with traces to express light, while dark-toned wallpaper laid the light to rest.

"Sometimes novelty overcomes great beauty."

The butler seemed proud of the mansion. Rosaria nodded slowly as she glanced at his young face.

"Yes, it's sturdy and beautiful."

It was dazzling to think of the Duchess who lived there. It was obvious how much affection the architects who thought

of themselves as scholars had put into the mansion.

When Rosaria complimented it, the butler's lips went up a little. He was worried because she was just a young lady, but

she seemed to have a good eye.

"This is the dining room, this is the main hall, and this is the parlor. The Duke has set up a separate parlor for you."

"Really?"

Separate bedroom to the parlor. The private bathroom and bedroom were more than enough. The thought that he was more considerate than she thought went through her head for a moment.

"Oh, the locked room is an unused room, so it's better if you don't try to force it to open. Even if you managed to open it, you will only be welcomed by the layers and layers of dust."

Why would they lock it? It was rare to lock the room, no matter how large the mansion was. The Lord Duke always kept the rooms clean.

He couldn't just say he was a Duke. Was there any other reason?

Rosaria 's curiosity with the room did not last long. She looked around the mansion to some extent. Now there was something else she needed to find out.

"That completes our tour in the castle"

"Oh delightful, Thank You Sir Portio"

"My pleasure" said the butler , " Ah, it's time, we need to get to work as scheduled, May I take your leave"

" Oh, Thanks Sir Portio, I will escort myself to the room"

"Okay Miss, Have a nice evening. Tomorrow Sir Cesar will pay a visit and will instruct and train you to the duties of the duchess, in behalf of all the staff of Eklostead, I hope we serve you well"

"Likewise" said the new Duchess as she left the room. As she sat for her evening tea, she starts writing her journal to mark the memories. She thinks of the Duke and now that she is the duchess of Eklostead, she hopes to maintain a good relationship as the lady if the house.
