ASSAULT ON TAEYANG CITY - PART ONE

Ivy stopped arguing with Douglas. She turned to Bruna and said, "I will only massacre one settlement. After that, I will need protection to go to Paris. I want to see the Eiffel tower."

Bruna replied, "No problem. We move tomorrow. The expedition starts tomorrow at 6:00 am. You are going with ten other people."

Douglas, in a crestfallen tone, said to Bruna, "I'm going with her and on the same condition."

"No problem. But first sign here." Bruna kept her hands as if she was holding paper. Then, paper manifested in her hands. The paper was a contract paper concerned with the expedition. The trick to manifesting the paper could be done by any kind of spell-binder. It was a common trick.

Douglas and Ivy read the conditions in the contract and saw that there weren't any malicious conditions. They signed the contract.

"We will see tomorrow."Bruna closed the meeting. "Keep yourselves ready."

Then, Bruna left the compound.

Douglas still looked downcast. He said, "I hope we don't regret this."

Ivy, who was watching Bruna leave, was irritated by his utterance. She turned at him, and with a face filled with disdain, she said, "We have been given a golden opportunity, but you choose to be selfish."

He could not believe she said that. It made him feel more disappointed in her. His raged disappointment made it difficult for him to argue with her.

"Never mind, Ivy. Today is not just our day. See you tomorrow," he said as he left the training to return to his room.

She frowned and panted heavily. She couldn't see any worthwhile reason for him to be against her.

The reason he succumbed to go on thee expedition was because of Ivy. He cared about and didn't want her to get hurt. He enlisted on the mission to protect her even it meant that he was going to get hurt.

The day passed into the next day, and so was it for the Proibida realm. Except that in the Proibida realm, there was no day or night. A red sun stood stationary in the north of this realm.

The next morning, by 7:15 am, Douglas, Ivy, and twenty other people stood on the back of a hunchback whale that had half of its body above water. They were being addressed by Bruna.

They were on the southern coast of Sirio Escuro.

Bruna gave them the details of the locations that they were going to attack.

While he listened, Douglas said in his mind, "Damn! She played us. She didn't give us a map for us to study before hand. I thought we gave a condition that we were going to help attack one settlement. She's exploiting Ivy's naivety and Ivy doesn't know it. We are certainly working into a deathtrap." He looked around and wondered, "I knew it. She brought more people on the mission. This is definitely a deathtrap."

Bruna had her back facing her audience as she pointed at marks on the hologram map. The hologram was conjured by a magical lantern that also stood on the back of the whale.

Douglas raised his hand to ask a question. Ivy was beside him. He noticed that she gave him a stern look. He changed his mind. He wanted to ask Bruna if there were things or people to be wary of at the locations they were heading to.

Unfortunately, Douglas and Ivy didn't know that the Romans were real soldiers. They always thought that they were characters made up by their tribe's people to exaggerate how they lost the war they started.

Bruna warned the band about the Romans. She told them to work as a team and use powerful attacks against the Romans if they encountered them.

Douglas was frightened as hell, but he didn't show it. He whispered with anxiety to Ivy, "The Romans are real! We are walking into a trap."

Ivy snubbed him. He felt as if his heart was punctured with an axe blade by her reaction. He stopped pursuing to feed her his concerns.

Then, Bruna said to the audience, "The band will be split into two."

Douglas felt restless after he heard from Bruna.

"Team A will be headed by Ivy and Team B will be headed by Douglas."

Douglas almost screamed. He expected that Ivy would also be perplexed by the news, but he was wrong. She was smiling sinisterly at him. She was glad that she didn't have to put up with his "irritating" character on the mission.

"Team A will lead the attack while Team B prowls around the area to tie up possible loose ends." "Remember, always stay sharp. If the mission didn't go as planned, remember that your selfless sacrifice won't be forgotten by our tribe."

The last sentence made Ivy worried. She thought, "Is this an official mission? Or is this the tribe's government's secret mission?"

Bruna walked up to Ivy and Douglas. She quietly told them to abandon the mission and stay safe if the mission went south. The duo understood that the other people that were in the band had been brainwashed to continue with the mission until they were dead.

The duo realised that Bruna wasn't coming with them.

Douglas, Ivy, and the band rode the hunchback whale away from the island to their first target location.

That day was almost two weeks before Kylo Rogan was sent to False Heaven to embark on the Roman programme.

Ivy's and Douglas's crew's first target was Taeyang city in South Korea. Fred was currently living with his family in the city.

Fred was returning to the condo where he and his family had an apartment. He had gone to get a few bulbs of onions from the supermarket close by. The direction he returned from let him see his two younger sisters playing with their toys on the balcony outside their rooms.

One of the sisters was fourteen and the other one was ten. Meanwhile, he was 21 years old.

The girls caught sight of him returning home, and they waved at him. He waved back with a big smile on his face.

He thought, "My sisters are really angels."
