Mark sat in the gym, sweat pouring down his face as he pushed his body to the limit. He had recovered from his fainting episode, but his road to redemption was far from easy. His coaches had warned him about the risks of another setback, concerned for his well-being. Tears welled up in Mark's eyes as he struggled to catch his breath. "It hurts, Maria. It hurts a lot. I don't feel complete without my titles. It's through my winning streak that people love me. I don't want to lose that love. You know how embarrassing it was fainting in front of you."

Maria's heart ached as she saw the pain in Mark's eyes. She stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. "Mark, listen to me," she whispered. "You don't need those titles to be loved. You don't need to push yourself so hard to prove your worth. Whether you're an athlete or not, you will always be loved by me. You're my best friend, and I will be here for you no matter what."

Unbeknownst to them, Faith had been watching from a distance, a pang of realization hitting her. Despite their breakup, the love between Mark and Maria was still evident. She walked up to them, nervously clearing her throat. "I... I couldn't help but overhear," she stammered. "You two never stopped loving each other, did you?"

Mark and Maria turned to face Faith, wide-eyed and startled. Mark's heart raced, unsure of what to say. Faith continued, her voice trembling with emotion. Hardin, who had been eavesdropping on the conversation, was overcome with anger. He couldn't believe that Maria still cared so deeply for Mark. He confronted her, his voice filled with jealousy. "Why do you care so much about him? I thought you were with me now!"

Maria stood her ground, her voice steady and unwavering. "Hardin, our breakup led to Mark's accident. I can't ignore that connection. I care because I have to. It's not about romantic love. It's about compassion and friendship."
