THE SECRET.
"Hoppy ! I murmured.
"Who is Hoppy?... the bartender asked
"Uhmm... Hoppy!...uhmm, Hoppy is my
sister who uhmm... Hoppy is just my
sister's friend"...I stammered.
"I am sorry about your loss and your
daughter,I shouldn't have asked
about her"...I consoled him.
" It's alright girl... life can sometimes
cheat on us".
I wish this plan wasn't made,I wish it will be reversed for the sake of the bartender.
"Hey dude! get me the long Island
bar tea"... said one of the drinkers.
"okkk...where is it? where is it? this
must be inside the Inn"... the
bartender thought.
But I can't let him get inside the Inn or we will be dead.
"Wait! your wife !...I stammered.
"I will be back in a jiffy...ok"...
he assured.
" no!no!no!...I am in a hurry to go now,
I know who your wife is!
He stopped and stared at me in surprise.
"I have once seen her,she had come
to my mom's boutique to purchase
some flowers,she would say, it's for
her lovely husband...."
At the sight of Hoppy sneaking out,I was relieved.
"... and she needed the best with a
good smelly savour and now she
is dead,no more good smelly savour
...I am so sorry about this,I hope your
daughter will be alright and you will
be happy again"...I said pitifully.
"Thank you Chumpstar! she will be
alright"...he smiled and assured me.
I drank the drink and walked out of the bar angrily, back to the shack .

"We did it Anita! you are such a
real super nerd"... Hoppy said
happily.
"No Hoppy! you just fucked up,
you adamant jerk"...I shouted.
"Come on Anita! don't tell me you
aren't happy, what have gotten over
you?
"What have gotten over me..mmh...
you wanna know, right!
the bartender! the bartender! he had
a family,his daughter is dying out
there and he is putting out every bit
of his sweat to save her and you are
happy with that"...
"Stop it all! I have my only sister to
fend for and beside,I have been doing
this for years,I would have rot in this
world of hell "... Hoppy answered.
"You rob for you ! do you care about
those people you rob... you have
robbed some, of their lives, their only
survival and it still meant nothing to
you, you only care about your own
benefits, mindless of how what you
do, affect them...
.. you are so selfish ... Hoppy!
I said, walking out of her sight.
How could Hoppy have such a heart, she is trying to survive but causing pain to others, she can still do other things to survive instead of tying herself up to other's curses.
Soon, Hoppy comes out to seat with me on the staircase of the shack, breathing out
heavily.

"You feel the cool breeze? old cargo
house I've got,my only buddy
accepting me back from all my
journey, I've got to treat her well.
... when momma was alive, she
would say "nobody messes with
my precious and go free"
Hoppy chuckled and continued.
" My dad never cared for us,he beats
up mom,calls her names, sleep
after other girls in the town, mom's
tears would always flow like the
river...I was only 13 when dad
signed a divorcing letter.
... lonely mom had to bear it all on
her since she has been pregnant
of my little sister, though not easier
for us till Nika was given birth to"...
"What did you just say?...I
immediately asked.
"I said...it was not easier...
" no..no..no! I mean, you should
mention that name again"...
"Nika!... she said"
"Nika!...do you know Nika?...I asked
overwhemly.
"Yeah! I do, Nika is my baby sister"...
she answered .
"I have been staying with Nika at the
orphanage,I thought Nika had no
family since she don't talk about it,
Nika made a pinky promise with
me before I left....I said.
" I think, that's the only secret Nika has
kept from you.At four,I sent Nika to the
orphanage,I couldn't sit to see lonely
Nika dying in silence after the death
of mom and I promised she will live
with me after I buy us a house.
I love Nika so much that I didn't have
to break the promise I made to mom.
At her last breath,mom said..."promise
me you will look after Nika" and I did.
What of you? you've got any brother or
sister?... Hoppy asked.
I bowed my head in self pity and narrated.
" From a trip back to home,we engaged
in an automobile accident,I was the
only surviving being,it was too late to
save my parents after the shortage of
blood... eventually,I found out I was
growing in an orphanage after the
narration by our therapist and view of
my parents incidental album".
"Anita!...I am sooo sorry about
everything and the pain it has caused
you,I understand,we wouldn't
have been here if our parents were
alive... but now we are sisters,we can
do everything together".
Hoppy said turning towards me.
"Wipe those tears,there is still better
hope for us, when we get rich
tomorrow,we will pack out from this
old cargo,we will play together and
even travel the whole world"...
Hoppy assured me.
"Thanks Hoppy! you are such a sweet
nerd"...I said, giving her a hug.
"Anita! one more thing,if I...I...I..."
Hoppy stammered weakly.
"If you do what? ...I asked.
She then smiled and said.
"If I fly away tomorrow,I need you to
look after Nika"
"Hahahaha ! come here nerd, you aren't
flying to anywhere,we live and die
together, even after our death,we will
still stay together, nothing can separate
us and after this,we bring back Nika
home"...I said, smiling at
her.
She stared and laughed at me as we walk back into the shack for our night rest.
