Chapter 36 - Everyday police station

There was silence on the bus, everyone was thinking about something of their own, and only sometimes you could hear the sobs of a guy who could not keep his mouth shut, who still held on to his bloody nose and looked with fear at the one who was considered a gentle beauty of the academy ... who, however, broke his nose without any problems.

Now Alicia with a lifeless expression was sitting next to her friend with a sword, whose expression was similar. There was sadness mixed with hatred in her eyes, it was unclear to whom and what. So she sighed and reached for the phone lying on her feet.

— "Y-yes." — her voice trembled at the beginning of the conversation, and the redness around her eyes only intensified.

— "Darling, I'm so glad to hear you" — her mother said with obvious relief in her voice. — "As soon as all this madness began, your uncle Roma immediately called us, and then Felix ... when will you come to us?"

—" I-I think in about twenty minutes. It's just that cars left on the roads are often found and they have to be driven around. Mom... I... Felix... him."

— "Darling, speak more clearly, what happened there? " — her mother's voice became gentle, but notes of a strange bad feeling pricked her heart.

— "Felix... he... he." — here the girl could not stand it and burst into tears again, and began to tell how everything happened, and Saeko, who was sitting next to her, only watched the actions of the girls to stop her if she decided to do something stupid again.

—" ..." — there was no answer, but the girl herself realized that her mother was very emotional, but she needed to share her pain with someone else... otherwise she would drown in it and drown.

—" A-Alicia... come home and we'll talk here." — Mother's quiet voice rang out. — "Take care of yourself, daughter." — the conversation was interrupted.

— "Rei, have you been able to contact your parents?" — Saeko asked another girl a question to change the subject. She was now sitting with her head buried in the glass of the bus and was clearly trying to control herself. But a little further away sat Takashi, who was hugging the very girl they picked up with Shizuka, Kiria Akutagawa, that's her name.

— "Mmm? No... more precisely, not really. I received a message that they are now collecting survivors at the police station and that they will call me as soon as they are free. Mom told me to be careful and go with... with you to Alicia's house…"

—" At least you got a call." — Saya grumbled with displeasure. — "My parents have so completely forgotten about me. However, what else did I expect from my father." — she said, crossing her arms in front of her chest, and at this time the Kohta saw a chance to comfort this girl.

—"A-are you sure they forgot? Maybe they have some business to do. A-and if you want y-you can rely on me! I will protect you! "— at the end he said with noticeable fervor, but Saya is Saya, so…

—" What are you talking about, you idiot?" — she was indignant. —" Did you decide to approach me? Hmm". — the pink cart turned away from the plump man and, under his gaze, got up from her seat and went to the doctor. — "Morikawa-san, do we have a long way to go?"

—" Depends on the road, I think. " — The doctor's wife answered her, glancing at her for a moment. — About twenty minutes, approximately.

—" OK." — Saya replied and looked at the three silent friends. —" Fool…"

While I was walking along a narrow alley between buildings, I heard distinct shots several times with different frequency. Most likely, the survivors shoot the infected at the station, but this is just my guess. Perhaps there are some Yakuza sitting there ... although it's unlikely, but everything can be, so it's better not to relax.

Soon I came out onto a neighboring alley, after passing which I will go out onto another, more spacious street on which the site itself is located.

In the windows of some buildings, people could be seen who remained sitting in their apartments, afraid to lean out ... however, this is quite an option if you know that help is coming soon. Only I don't notice this help anywhere yet, and the army will first try to liberate the capital — Tokyo, but after this city it will go to others. But I don't have any information about the affairs in the world yet, so it's better not to build theories, because most often they are untenable.

Along the way, I still used a new power that will help me survive, and not only. If I survived the bite and my telekinesis became hundreds of times stronger, there must be a reason for this and it most likely hides in my blood. Based on the available facts, it can be assumed that I can create a vaccine against the virus in infected people. I'm not sure that it will be possible to help those who have already turned, but I can't say anything without a thorough analysis of the infected themselves.

And it was only after another infected person was killed that I realized one thing, I feel absolutely nothing. After all, they used to be people and maybe there is still a chance to save them, and I just... kill them. However, logic quickly sorted out the feelings. Now there are them — infected, and there are us. And we are on opposite sides of the barricade and it's not worth sparing them and waiting for them to gather into a huge crowd crushing everything in their path.

While I was walking in silence and thinking about the moral point of view of killing infected people, I decided to check one more thing. With the power of my mind, I tore the lamppost out of the ground, noting again how easily I managed it, and launched it, straining as much as possible... and although I expected shocking results, but not so much. With a jerk, the pillar clearly overcame the speed of sound, I made such a conclusion from a loud explosive pop and a small shock wave that enveloped me with a stream of air. In addition, the nearest windows of the buildings cracked, and the car that was closest to me was left without them at all. At the same time, the pillar bent at the moment of acceleration and flew up no longer as smooth as it was when I pulled it out of the ground.

— "Holy shit. "— that's all I could say to that. Since the pillar flew so far away that I even lost sight of it. But when I woke up, I deliberately looked into the distance on the sixth floor and saw the smallest details of buildings located a few kilometers away from me. Some cars had alarm systems turned on, so I hurried on... it was somehow short-sighted on my part to do so, but I just couldn't resist.

—" Of course, here you are." — I said when I noticed the infected coming in my direction. They did not become a problem, after what happened, I became more confident in my abilities. That's why I wanted to twist their necks... but again my inexperience in telekinesis showed itself, and I just tore off their heads. Therefore, I decided not to influence ordinary people with telekinesis yet, so as not to accidentally tear off something for them. And it's not worth it for yourself either…

And so, I went out to the police station, which was surrounded by infected. And there were really a lot of them, not less than a hundred so for sure. Although some were standing closer to me and to this road I was walking along, apparently they also heard the noise, but got lost along the way or were attracted by something else.

A shot rang out again, only this time it looked like a shot from a gun, and the infected with understandable zeal began to try to somehow get through the door. The main entrance itself consisted of vandal—proof glass, that is, in fact, of armored glass, which greatly helped in protecting the building, since the crowd of infected people simply could not break in. The glass door was closed on the other side, and after that it was also littered with various furniture for even greater security.

So, I will not be able to go through the main entrance for very prosaic and already voiced reasons, so I need to look for a back entrance. And it's good that I went here a couple of times with Rei and I know about these "back doors". The first possible option is to go through the parking lot, which is located behind the building and is usually guarded by guards, but now they are unlikely to be there. The second is to break down the evacuation exit of the building, located on the left side of the site. You can also try to jump on the roof from a neighboring building, but I still tend to the first option and go through the parking lot.

To do this, I walked around the cluster of infected and went to the site from the parking lot. There was a fairly large mesh fence protecting the parking lot from the street. Besides, I found out who was supposed to be patrolling this place and he was... not in the best condition. To be more precise, he had a large hole in his head and, judging by his appearance, he was not infected at the time of death. This is quite an alarming sign, as are the obvious attempts to break down the gates of the underground parking and get inside. In addition to the gate itself, the door leading to the stairs of the site was also damaged, bullet holes were clearly visible in the handle and in the lock ... apparently someone watched movies where a pistol shot could easily break the door lock. Although I didn't find any keys at the already dead policeman, so it's strange that no one could get inside.
