She is a sweet poison

It is always a pleasure to talk to Rick. He is my best friend. He understands me like no one else and same is the case with me. We are together from the day Alpha Stanley brought him to the pack. He was all alone and no one paid attention to me as well. We were alone individually and so we found relief with eachother's presence.

Now that he became the Alpha, I thought he would change but he didn't ! He doesn't let me call him Alpha when we are alone. He even asks me to call him by name infront of the whole pack. But I don't do it.

I know everyone knows that we are best buddies since childhood, but calling the Alpha by his name is insulting him. And if I; his Beta won't respect him, everyone will think that it's ok to call Alpha by name and start doing that.

And if they started doing that, no one would respect him and he could not ask the members to call him Alpha, because they'll hold on to this that I call him by his name and not Alpha.

They will say the Alpha doesn't have similar rules for all the members. And that shouldn't happen at any cost ! We love eachothers the sams way we loved back when we were teenagers, that's more than enough.

He is hurt so much. He is not being himself from the day he found out she is getting married to his brother. He is feeling completely hopeless about his love life. I need to help him out. But he is not ready to listen to me. I should give him time to get used to it and find someone else to love. Or at least be his partner.

A pack can't be without a Luna. A child needs a mother the most ! He is hopeful that something might happen to his brother and she'll come to him. And if he wishes, I can make that happen. Animal attacks are very common on the forest way !

Today he opened my eyes and changed my views about Katharine. I have always thought of her as the easy catch for every single male in the pack. I thought she was ready to share bed with any male she laid her eyes on.

But I didn't know about her heat pain or anything. I actually didn't had any kind of respect for her before but now, I am ashamed of myself for having such mean thoughts for her. I must apologise to her.

I am standing infront of her room door but I can't gather the courage to knock at her door. What would she think if I did ? I guess I should leave and ask Rose to come with me. Yes, let's go before she finds me here...

" Hey ! Are you looking for me, by any chance, Beta ? "

Katharine opened the door just before I could leave.

" Huh ? Um... Ye... Actually... "

I was startled and couldn't think straight. My guilt and her sudden door opening caught me off guard.

" You weren't ? "

Katharine asked.

" No... Yes... I mean... "

I again couldn't decide what to say.

" Are you alright, Beta ? Come inside, I'll get you some water. Come. "

Katharine said and moved a bit so that I could enter her room.

Why am I feeling this weird thing. My heart is beating so fast as if she caught me stealing something. She gave me a glass of water and I gulped it all at once.

" Relax. What's wrong ? Are you scared ? Did something happened ? "

Katharine asked genuinely.

" No no, nothing's like that. Actually I wanted to ask you something. "

I finally found the right words. May be the water helped me.

" Yes go ahead. "

Katharine said looking at me curiously.

" Um... You handed me the shopping list and um... Last time I brought something different... I... I really don't want to get my arms ripped off... "

I said what was on my mind.

Katharine laughed at my words.

Wow. I never paid attention but, her laugh is very melodious and she looks very beautiful when she laughs.

" I am so sorry, Beta. I just remembered that day. I am so sorry, the girls got out of control there. "

Katharine said still laughing.

" Yes and I don't want to face it ever again. So, Alpha suggested to take the one who handed me over the list for shopping so that, I won't make any mistake and get my arms ripped off. "

I told her the reality.

" Yeah sure, I'll definitely come. I love going for shopping. Just tell me when have to go and I'll be ready. "

Katharine said with a smile on her face.

" Great. And you can buy whatever you want, Alpha have allowed to get everyone what they need and want. "

I told her what he had said.

I asked as I didn't got what she said.

" Huh ? Nothing. Let me know about our shopping trip. "

" Yeah I surely will. I guess, I should take your leave now. "

I said getting up.

Katharine said.

" Um... Have you had dinner ? "

I asked her as a formality.

" Not yet. Why would you ask that ? I mean I don't want to be rude or anything but, you've never said a single word to me till now and you wanna have a conversation all of a sudden ? Not that I didn't liked it, but it makes me wonder why ? "

Katharine asked her doubt.

" Um... Actually... I... I don't know how to put it in words. "

I wanted to apologize her but couldn't gather the correct words.

" Just say what's on your mind. It won't take much. "

Katharine said encouraging me.

" Yeah but I think this might hurt you. "

I told her.

" Well, we never were friends in the first place, if I remember correctly, were we ? "

Katharine said not caring about her getting hurt.

" That's what I am afraid of. I want to be friends with you and I can't do it without a confession and I am afraid that, my confession would make you hate me and never see my face ever again ! "

I said what I thought.

" Oh my god, what kind of confession you have to do ? "

Katharine said with surprise.

" I know I shouldn't be doing this but, can you promise me that you would give me one chance for our friendship, after I made my confession ? "

I asked sheepishly.

" Well, I would say no, but I guess I have no friends here. All the males look at me as a device they are just waiting, when I ask them and they get me in their bed and the girls hate me for all males wanting me and not them !

Go ahead, make your confession, I'll try to give you the chance you asked for but sorry, I can't promise you anything. "

Katharine said the truth.

" I understand. Well, at least say you won't hate me for what I am gonna tell you, please ? "

I was eager for getting a chance to be her friend.

" Is my friendship that important to you that, you want it by hook or by crook ? You are making me curious. What is it ? "

Katharine asked doubtfully.

" Something like you just mentioned. I want to apologise to you for I had a few presumptions about you. "

I tried to sound as much less vulgar as I could.

" What kind of ? "

Katharine asked.

" Um... Well I didn't wanted to do the thing you said the other males want to but, I thought you give all the males few hints that you are an easy approach and I... I am feeling guilty for thinking of you that way without knowing it myself ! "

I finally confessed and shut my eyes close.

Katharine said as if it was nothing. Maybe once you get used to a bad behaviour, you don't acknowledge when it happens again.

" I heard your pained screams of heat and Alpha told me that we can't even imagine what level of pain you guys go through in heat. He told me that the pain is so server that, you guys could ask to any pedestrian to take it away without even thinking about it for a fraction of second.

And that made me proud of you that, you decided to wait for your real mate and didn't let anyone have you just so that you won't face the pain ever again. "

I said genuinely proud of her. But what she heard was totally different !

Katharine asked getting excited at Alpha's name.

I said without even noticing that she wasn't talking about me being proud of her, but she was excited that Alpha said that about her !

Katharine said completely misinterpreting.

" Um... Katharine, he already have imprinted on someone so... He can't be your mate. "

I told her the reality she should know, before it gets too late she end up heart broken.

I wanted to ask her if she follows him, but she read my mind and answered the unfinished question.

" Yes, I follow him. I know everything about him and his interest. I like him so much that I want him as my mate. But just like you, he too thinks of me as whore who is ready to be with anyone.

Yes, I did a few mistakes, but I did those because I thought that was the right thing to do for making him think about me !

Katharine confessed whatever she thinks.

I said trying to make her understand the situation.

She didn't even waited to listen my 'Bye', she slammed the door on my face. Alpha needs to know this. She might create problems for Alpha when the time comes to get his impression ! She knows way too much than she should have known !
